After a highly successful relaunch in 2016, the Hardwick 10k (formerly Historic Hardwick Hall 6 Mile Road Race) is to be run again this year. Established in 1981 by local resident and athlete Cyril Leason, the race has occurred most years since then - this being the 35th run!
The run starts and finishes at Pilsley Primary School in the village of Pilsley, near Chesterfield (not Pilsley near Chatsworth). Most of the route follows country roads with stunning views of Hardwick Hall, and leads into the National Trust's beautiful Hardwick estate, up a challenging hill to the entrance of the Hall, which is also the turnaround point. Competitors will receive a warm and enthusiastic welcome as they return to the village - with locals encouraging competitors to give their best over the last few hundred metres. It would be great to see you there!
