Haddington Half Marathon

RACE DATE The Haddington Half Marathon Road Race is organised by Haddington Running Club and will take place at 2pm on Saturday 12 August 2017.
ENTRY FEE: Scottish Athletics Members £16.00 Non Members £18.00. No refunds will be given.
Registration opens at 12:00pm at Aubigny Sports Centre, Haddington on the day. Race Numbers can be collected from the registration. Limited entries will be accepted on the day with an additional £2 fee.
Juniors must be 17yrs and over
Health and Safety
Clear route maps will be posted at Registration. The route is well signposted, but it is on public roads. The organisers are being assisted by Police Scotland and a number of voluntary marshals. The safety of all is paramount and it is a condition of entry that competitors must follow the instructions of the Police and the marshals. All runners must enter emergency contact details on the back of their number. To ensure runner safety the wearing of Headphones will be strictly prohibited.
PARKING There is limited parking within Haddington Town Centre. There is a long stay car park beside Tesco supermarket. Parking is also available to the rear of East Lothian Council buildings at John Muir House. PLEASE PARK RESPONSIBLY
CHANGING FACILITIES Limited changing is available within Aubigny Sports Centre, Haddington. Showering and Toilet facilities are available within the sports centre. The organisers accept no responsibility for loss of clothing or equipment.
RACE START and Finish The race starts and finishes in Neilson Park Haddington.
THE COURSE The course follows B Class country roads to the South outskirting Haddington. This is a very scenic, undulating route with a sharp hill at 0.25 miles, a long hill at 3.5 miles, a sharp hill at 8 and 9.5 miles. There are long flat sections. Although the course is described as undulating it boasts one of the fastest times in the country with a course record of 63 min 31 sec.
Please clear the finish area as soon as you can.
REFRESHMENTS Water stations will be at 4, 7 and 10 miles. Drinks will also be available at the finish of the race.
RACE PRIZESMedals will be presented to all finishers as they cross the line. Individual and team prizes (three to count) will be presented at the registration tent at approximately 4.15pm. Age group awards will be presented to the categories Seniors, F/M40, F/M50 & F/M60 and First Junior.
