This event is in a testing state, and is not open for public sign-ups until the organiser has launched it.

Organiser's Description


SUNDAY, 10 May 2020 - 1100 start







Welcome to the Forres Harriers Benromach 10k, please read your race notes thoroughly to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable race.

Starting on the road in front of the Benromach Distillery, the course is a flat and fast course returning to the Distillery premises.

Medal for all finishers.    

Hamish Cameron Trophies – Our new awards in honour of Hamish Cameron. He passed away in 2019, and was a well-loved Forres Harriers member for many years.

Registration: Will take place from 09.30 hrs to 10.30 hrs in Forres Town Hall (small hall).   There is a walk of about 20 minutes to and from the start.

IMPORTANT NOTE the usual walk across the railway crossing is no longer open.   People who are going to the start need to walk over the new road bridge to the left of the railway station to go to the start at the Benromach Distillery.  There is also a small bridge at the railway station. Please take care crossing the A96.

Race Briefing: There will be a race safety brief at the race start to go over any safety issues and answer any questions.Please follow all instructions from race officials as they are there to ensure your safety. The roads on the race route are NOT closed for this event so be aware of other road traffic. They are rural roads and narrow in places so for that reason:


This is a requirement for our insurance with Scottish Athletics. Anyone seen wearing headphones of any type will be removed from the race and race results.  (this includes ALL headphones due to the nature of the roads used and is stated in our risk assessment submitted to SA and Police). 



Start Time: The race will start promptly at 11.00 hrs beside the Benromach Distillery.

As the start will be on the road the safety briefing will be held in the grounds of the Distillery.

Water Stops: There will be a water station on the course.

Race Route: The race starts and finishes at the Distillery. It is a fast, flat route

Post race Refreshments: Refreshments for runners, with teas and coffee will be available in the Town Hall. Benromach have kindly provided portable toilets at the Distillery, but these are limited. There are also toilets at the Town Hall with limited changing facilities but no showers are available.


General Information:

There are N0 PARKING FACILITIES at the Distillery or surrounding roads. i.e the start and finish area. Do NOT take your vehicle to the start. Inconsiderate parking could threaten the future of the event.   There is limited disabled parking. 

There  is space for you to leave your bicycle at the distillery.  A few folks parked in town and then cycled across to the start last year.  

Please park in the many free Forres town car parks.

Leave any personal belongings tidily at the Distillery. This is a working distillery, and we do not want to create an untidy/unsafe environment!  Please obey any instructions from distillery staff whilst on their premises.   

Online Entry and Entry Fees:  These are available only online at Entry Central.  

Entry fees are £12 SAL and £14 unattached.

No entry on the day.

Entries will close at midnight 7 May 2020. EntryCentral will show the race as 'Closed' after this time.
