Dunecht Dash 5km Race and 2km Fun Run

This Festival is in a testing state, and is not open for public sign-ups until the organiser has launched it.

Organiser's Description

DUNECHT DASH

Sunday 18 June 2023, registration 10am - 11.15am, 2km Start 11.30am, 5km Start 12.15pm.

Venue: Dunecht House, Dunecht

 

The Dunecht Dash comprises of a 2km Fun Run and accurately measured and timed 5km Race.

 

Both runs are set predominantly within the beautiful estate grounds surrounding Dunecht House, on mainly private tarmac roads. The 2km race is open to children and adults running with children. The 5km race is open to everyone aged 7 and above with experience of this distance and must be accompanied by an adult. It is the parents discretion if a child requires supervision around the course.

 

This event is run with the kind permission of the Oag and Pearson Families. We are pleased also to have SPEX Group as our main sponsor.

 

Our chosen charity to support this year is AberNecessities. The School will be making a donation to this charity on behalf of the event. ENTRY FEE

5km (Minimum age 7 yrs) - £15 via entry central.

2km Fun Run - £7 via entry central. This fun run is open to everyone. Adults can enter and run with their children however they will not be eligible for any prizes. Please choose the appropriate age range from the drop down box.

On-line Entries close 11 June 2023. Each race is limited to 200 entrants on account of limited car parking facilities at the venue. Consequently the event is often fully subscribed prior to the stated closure date (a small reserve list may be opened).

 

Please be aware that:

1.          Entries will not be available on the day.

2.          ENTRIES ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE. However, subject to administrative expenses/booking fees, a refund will be made for an entry withdrawn by email notification at least 4 weeks prior to the event, thereby enabling that place to be reallocated.

3.          It is a condition of entry that the organisers are permitted to make a photo record of the finish line, and to take photographs for future promotional material.

REGISTRATION

Registration from 10am - 11.15am. Warm up session prior to both events. 2km fun run start time: 11.30am. 5km race start time: 12.15pm. Numbers will be issued at registration and must be worn so as to be clearly visible from the front. Please ensure you write your emergency contact details on the reverse. 

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

Health and Safety

Clear route maps will be posted for all routes. 

All routes are extensively sign posted and well marshalled. Safety is paramount and we expect runners to follow the advice of marshals at all times, and especially where the 5km route uses a short section of quiet public road.

 

PARKING

Car parking and registration is at Dunecht House, near Dunecht Village and will be clearly signposted on the day. Overflow car parking is on the cricket club field on the estate. Please follow signs from the A944 Aberdeen-Alford road in Dunecht Village.

 

FACILITIES

  • Toilet facilities will be provided.
  • There will be a dedicated waste and recycling station provided by Tidy Green Clean to help us achieve a environmentally sustainable event.
  • This year we ask that you bring a reusable water container that you will be able to fill at a dedicated water station provided by AquAid Aberdeen. 
  • Catering facilities will be on site for hot and cold snacks.

 

RACE START AND FINISH

All races start and finish at Dunecht House. 

This year professional timing will be provided by KitST. The system will use timing tags attached to your shoe laces. These will be allocated at registration and collected in the holding area at the end of the race.  It is your responsibility that all tags allocated to you are returned at the end of the race.  

All times will be available within 10 minutes of the race finishing via a dedicated website.  

All race times will be displayed on the FaceBook page after the race. 

 

REFRESHMENTS 

Fruit and a small snack will be  available at the finish line. This year we have arranged for water to be provided at a separate station. You can bring water bottles/cups or use one of the compostable ones provided.  A catering tent will also be in attendance.

 

RACE PRIZES

All competitors will receive a participation medal. Designed by pupils of Dunecht Primary School and manufactured using sustainable materials by Ingrained Inc.

For the 2km we have prizes for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd Male and Female U16, U12, U10, U8, U6.

For the 5km we have prizes for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd U18 Male & U18 Female and 1st, 2nd & 3rd for SF U35, VF U45, SVet F45+, SM U40, VM U50, SVM 50+ categories.

The Awards Ceremony for both runs will take place shortly after the finish of the 5km race.

For each sign-up, the organiser pays the Service Fee of 4% (min 50p). You pay no surcharge
