Organiser's Description

COVID-19 UPDATE

With Covid restrictions largely lifted, club training has now reverted to 'whole club' training rather than training in 'bubbles'.  From May 2021 we are also offering members the opportunity to take part in a variety of timed road, trail, cross-country and hill events, whilst observing the appropriate protocols for such events.

Prospective new members are asked to contact the club by email to enquiries@carnegie-harriers.co.uk to find out more about our Covid-compliant procedures for attending training sessions and taking part in our organised events.

CLUB INFORMATION

Carnegie Harriers is a friendly running club which caters for people interested in running over all types of terrain and across a range of distances. Under the supervision of a qualified coach, we offer structured, progressive training which can be adapted to meet the needs of all runners, regardless of speed or ability. The club meets for training on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.30 pm. During the summer months we may hold some off-road or hill training sessions at various locations, and throughout the year we organise additional training runs, or recces of race routes, which are open to all members.

We are based at Pitreavie Sport and Soccer Centre, Pitreavie Playing Fields, Dunfermline, which offers changing and showering facilties along with a cafe where members can socialise after training. There are alternative meeting points for some of our sessions and further details can be found on the club's website.

We welcome new members, whether you are a serious competitor or just wishing to keep fit. Whenever possible, we ask that anyone thinking of joining the club first comes along to a couple of training sessions, just to make sure the club fits your needs. If you want to find out more before coming along, including details of training sessions and meeting points for a specific date, please contact the club secretary by email to enquiries@carnegie-harriers.co.uk

Carnegie Harriers organise the very popular Devilla Forest 15K and 5K Trail races which take place in February. We also host the unique Graham Clark Memorial Race in August which gives runners the opportunity to race (on two legs) around Knockhill Racing Circuit, another firm favourite.

Joining Carnegie Harriers is a great way to make new friends. As well as encouraging members to take part in races and relay/team events, we also organise a number of social events throughout the year.
