Donkey Brae races 2016
31 Jul 2016
1pm Sunday 31 July 2016 at Hawkcraig Park, Aberdour, Fife, Scotland
These Scottish Athletics registered 7-mile & 2-mile races both start and finish at Aberdour’s Silver Sands. The scenic courses are of mixed terrain over undulating coastal paths, the 7 mile runs between Aberdour and Dalgety Bay whilst the shorter 2 mile run remains within Aberdour itself. Make sure you keep something in reserve for the notorious Donkey Brae climb towards the finish!
The 7 mile races is open to runners aged 16 years and over while the 2 mile race is open to those 9 years and over. Everyone who takes part will receive a medal & results will be available in the Fife Free Press. Unfortunately the course is not suitable for wheelchair users
Advanced booking is preferable however late entry is possible on the day from 10.00am – 12.00pm at Aberdour Primary School, Hawkcraig Road. We encourage runners to travel by public transport where possible as parking is restricted. Aberdour has excellent train links. Please note parking charges will apply.
The Donkey Brae races are once again part of the Aberdour Festival. Why not bring your friends and family and enjoy a great day out? As well as the 7 & 2 mile races there is a fun run open to all & for runners and non-runners alike there is a farmer's village market in the marquee with refreshments, entertainment and much more. For further details, check out the Aberdour Festival website
