This event incorporates 2 Rounds of ACU Classic Enduro Championship

 

The above club will run an open Classic Time Card Enduro event held under the ACU Enduro Regulations, The Classic Enduro Regulations, and the National Sporting Code, the following supplementary regulations and any final instructions.

 

Please note: The insurance cover for this event will be "basic" (limit of liability £10m). Medical malpractice insurance (limit of liability £5m) is included. There is NO personal accident insurance for competitors. Eligibility:

ALL Riders MUST hold an ACU or SACU Licence and be a minimum of 16 years old. Riders under 18 years require a parental agreement form.  ACU Licences will be checked at signing on.  If you require a One Event Licence to be issued on the day you will need to tick the appropriate box on the online entry form and include the relevant fee in your online payment.

FOREIGN RIDERS (Including Irish)

Foreign including Irish competitors should provide written permission to ride from their national federation or equivalent. If not in a national association, competitors must take out additional ACU insurance to cover repatriation in case of injury.

Premiums will be taken at "signing on"

Foreign riders without Start Permission or evidence of FIM cover:     £ 95-00

Foreign riders with Start Permission and evidence of FIM cover:       £   6-00

 

THE EVENT                                                                                                                                       

The event is a traditional time card enduro consisting of several laps each day.

Competitors will be required to ride to a specified time schedule and will be awarded penalty points for early or late arrival at check points. Competitors will also ride a cross country type special test which will be timed to the nearest second.  Additional penalty points may be added for breaches of regulations specified in the ACU Standing Regulations.

Each day will be run as a separate event, riders who do not complete day one will be allowed to start day two. You may enter for either Saturday, or Sunday, or both.

THE COURSE

The course is a mixture of private pine forest, open moorland and farmland, with a lap length of 20 kms (approx.). The course does not include any public road.

WHERE DOES THE EVENT START?

The event start is just outside the village of Chatton in Northumberland

(Post CodeNE71 6EL) (Grid Ref NU03033-28076) The start is 7.5 Miles from the A1

Accommodation can be found close by in the town of Wooler 3.5 Miles away.

 

WHAT BIKES MAY BE USED?

The event is open to all Enduro type motorcycles manufactured, up to and including 1995

All motorcycles must be fitted with front and rear lights (lights will not be tested)

If you wish to compete for points in the ACU Classic Enduro Championship your motorcycle must comply with the ACU machine classes CE1or CE2.

CE1- Machines originally manufactured with all of the following.

Two rear shock absorbers.

Drum brakes front and rear.

Air cooled engine.

 

CE2- Machines originally manufactured with two of the following

Two rear shock absorbers.

Drum brakes front and rear

Air cooled engine.

 

CLASSES:

For newcomers to the sport, classes are divided by rider ability and age of motorcycle

Experts will be riding the most number of laps, whilst novice /beginner will ride approximately half the number of laps.

If your motorcycle complies with the ACU Classic Enduro Championship classes CE1 or CE2 please tick the relevant box on the entry form.

 

NB: The club reserves the right to reclassify any bike or rider entered which, in the club's opinion, has been entered into a class in error.

 

SILENCERS

All motorcycles must be adequately silenced, (ESR9 control of exhaust sound level)

                                                                                                                                       

TYRES

Tyre choice for this event is optional, enduro or motocross tyre may be used.

 

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Solo entry fee is £55 per day.

ACU membership and ACU one-event licence - £15

Entry fees are non-refundable and will not be returned unless the event is cancelled.

In the event of a cancellation a £10 fee will be deducted to cover administrative costs.

The organisers reserve the right to refuse an entry.

ENVIRONMENT

Any maintenance which takes place in the Start Field or Work Area must be carried out with the use of an environmental mat. Use of power washers & tear offs is strictly forbidden.

 

PUBLIC ACCESS: You must be aware at all times that members of the public (walkers, cyclists, horse riders etc) may have access even to some of the private land used in the event and safety must be considered at all times.

Spectators are NOT allowed on the course.

 

RIDING NUMBERS

Will be issued at the start by the organisers and must be clean & visible at all times. Please also ensure that the sponsor's logo is visible.

 

REFUELLING

You must provide a fire extinguisher and retain it with your fuel. You are responsible for your own refuelling arrangements. In the refuelling area, make certain that you do not block the free run of other competitors.

SMOKING IS NOT ALLOWED IN THE REFUELLING AREAS – PENALTY FOR THIS IS EXCLUSION.

 

SECURITY

There will be no overnight Parc Ferme and all competitors are reminded that the security of their machines and possessions is their responsibility at all times.

CLOTHING

Helmets must have current ACU gold or silver stamp.

Motor cross type boots, gloves and suitable strong clothing must be worn.

Enduro type jackets are strongly recommended.

COURSE MARKING

Day-Glo arrows will be used to mark the course which will be marked to enduro standard. Day 1 will be marked with orange arrows and day 2 will be marked with green arrows. A 5 mph speed limit applies in all areas marked with blue tape or blue 5 mph signs. Penalty for exceeding a 5 mph limit is exclusion. Other mandatory speed limits may be imposed at specific parts of the course for safety reasons & must be adhered to. Sunday's course will be Saturday's course reversed.

MACHINE EXAMINATION / SIGNING-ON

Signing on, followed by Machine Examination will take place on Saturday from 10.00am-11.30am

and on Sunday from 8.30am-10.00am. Please allow yourself plenty of time.

START

Riders will start in groups of four at one minute intervals from 12.00 am on Saturday and from 10.30 on Sunday (times to be confirmed). 

                                                       SPECIAL NOTES 

  • Entries will only be accepted online.
  • Entries will not be accepted by telephone. 
  • Abuse from drivers or supporters to any official will not be tolerated and will lead to exclusion.
  • Only competitors and officials are allowed to ride the course (this includes the start area) and action will be   taken against any unauthorised person found to be doing so.

All competitors must have a valid ACU competition licence or have purchased a 1 event licence with their entry.

Dangerous or reckless driving observed by an official or reported to an official by a member of the public is liable to lead to exclusion.

ESR14: Helmet cameras and cameras attached to the body are prohibited unless the helmet is manufactured with the camera as an intrinsic part. Cameras attached to the machine are permitted.

DOGS

This is a sheep farming area so if possible please leave your dogs at home. Any dogs not under control and posing a risk to livestock are at risk of being shot!

LITTER

Please use the bags and the bins provided, or better still take it home. In previous years the cleanliness of the site has been highly commended by the landowner.  Please help to maintain our reputation.

CAMPING & ACCOMMODATION

Free camping will be permitted in the start/finish field. Portaloos will be provided.

Please note there is no water supply on the campsite so please bring water for your own needs.
