Learn to Cycle - Eastham CC Hub
2 hour fun course that introduces the basics of how to balance on a bike and pedal without stabilisers. Suitable for children aged 4+. Bring your own bike and helmet.
This is a very popular workshop with limited places which must be paid for in advance. We aim to offer more dates each month.
The session is led by a qualified national standards cycle instructor, with a maximum of 6 children practicing together. Janet works alongside parents and carers showing you how to help your child master the skills to ride confidently without support. Individual one to one coaching is available as an alternative to this group module. We do hold a range of lightweight Frog bikes in different sizes which can be borrowed to help your child learn to cycle.
Please note the sign-up form asks first for the name and age of child you are registering. You can register more than one child per session if there is space and by seperate application. However, we ask that extra adults accompany on the day to help each child.

TIME: Please sign-up for either morning or afternoon
Morning session 10am to 12 midday
Afternoon 1pm to 3pm

- Hold the child not the bike to encourage them to pedal
- Be aware of hazards such as other cyclists, walkers, dogs and balls
I have been a freelance cycle instructor for several years and particularly enjoy teaching children and adults to ride for the first time. I am registered with the Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced level to work with children or vulnerable adults. I have coached in excess of 200 learners over the past 12 months. Feedback has been very good but you are welcome to contact me for more information or visit our Facebook page Wirral Community Cycle Hubs.
Families love this fun group session. Learning to ride a bike is a life skill that you never forget. Remember to bring a camera to capture the moment!
"Thank you so much Janet for today. You are an amazing teacher and just what P needed. She loved it and is so happy that she can now ride her bike on her own. Lots of practice now to help build her confidence further and practice with her brakes!!! "
"Thanks for teaching my little man how to ride his bike. He thinks you’re the best."
“Thank you so much for the course on Saturday. It has given E so much confidence. Today she didn't want to stop as she said bike riding is now fun. The only problem now is I can't keep up with her! Thanks for your advice, patience, and kindness"
“Thank you, Janet. Session today was brilliant and M is super excited to keep practicing. Her confidence building alone is a massive move forward so we are really proud of what she achieved.”
