Organiser's Description

Santa Squelch Fun Run 2019

Dunlop Community Hub is delighted to invite you to join our Santa Squelch Fun Run on Saturday 14th December at 11am! Come and try our muddy 3.5k trail route starting at the old cricket pitch on Netherhouse Road up round Templehouse Woodland. The event is just for fun: there is no timing or prize for first place, though we will have some fun spot prizes: think muddiest Santa, jolliest Santa, most eco-friendly Santa ….

No need for full Santa regalia (though that's welcome too): a Santa hat or bit of tinsel and jingle bells will do just fine: the more homemade/ improvised the better!

Entry fee includes a light buffet lunch back at Merito in the village of Dunlop. Spectators are welcome to join us, so make sure you reserve any extra lunch tickets in advance. The bar will also be open so you can stay and enjoy a well deserved drink!

Early bird tickets are available until 12th December and includes an excellent value Family Ticket for just £20! Discount applied in your Shopping basket. Full price entries will be accepted on the day unless capacity has been reached.

Dunlop has excellent transport links with a regular train service just a 5 minute walk from Merito where registration will take place. If you do need to bring a car, please park responsibly in the village, avoiding verges and pavements. There is no vehicle access to the start or finish areas.

Profits from the event will go towards funding new windows for Merito, our community-owned pub and hub, creating a better environment for us all to enjoy.

The event start is on Netherhouse Road (at the old cricket pitch), a short walk from registration at Merito. We will walk down together just before the start. There is no vehicle access to the start/finish area.

Paths on the event route include tarmac, dirt track, grass and cross country sections: it will be uneven and slippery underfoot and you can expect to get wet and muddy! The route is not suitable for buggies, bikes or scooters. You may bring your dog on the run as long as it is kept under control and on a lead. We won't be able to accommodate your dog in Merito for lunch afterwards due to restricted space.

Children take part at the same time and on the same course as the adults. Children under 3 are also welcome to take part: reserve a free ticket for them with your own adult ticket.

An Early bird Family ticket is just £20 and includes a light lunch! Sign everyone up and you'll get the discount applied before you pay.
