Organiser's Description

The 2020 Stirling Junior Duathlon will take place at a new location but still within the University of Stirling, on Saturday 25th April 2020, the day before the Scottish National Duathlon Championships.
The new venue and day change is as a result of a combination of the campus regeneration works and facility availability at the time.

This new Junior event will include revised run/bike/run distances and include run/bike/run and transition split times.

Details of each Category can be found below.

The Stirling Junior Duathlon is hosted under The Stirling Triathlon Club banner, is sanctioned by Triathlon Scotland and shall be ran in accordance with the BTF Rule Book.

Stirling Junior Duathlon Event

The course is appropriate for mountain bikes and cyclocross bikes - it's all on grass pitch surfaces and completely traffic free!
Road bikes may only be suitable if ground/pitch conditions are favourable, updates on the conditions will be regularly posted on FB and a final condition report will be sent out in the pre-event race email briefing.

Age Group Run Bike Run
Tri Star Start (age 8)  400m  1000m  200m
Tri Star 1 (ages 9-10)  800m  2000m  400m
Tri Star 2 (ages 11-12)  1400m  4000m  700m

Triathlon age groups are based on age at end of the year (e.g. if your 11th birthday is coming up this November then you'll race in the 11-12 age group, even though you'll only be 10 on the day of the race). This ensures that you race against the same people all year.

Although not a requirement to enter the race, it is advised that entrants have a home nations membership and race licence.

The 2020 Stirling Junior Duathlon will be awarding the 1st, 2nd & 3rd boys and girls in each age category.
