This Festival is in a testing state, and is not open for public sign-ups until the organiser has launched it.

Organiser's Description

Welcome to the second Newhailes 10km, 5km and 1.6km family fun trail running event.

Scurry Events are hosting this event at Newhailes House and Gardens.

The trail runs are clearly marked and marshalled mixed terrain routes for everyone to enjoy. 

Both the 5km and 10km trail's will run varied laps around the 86 acre estate grounds with the 10K also having a section outwith the Newhailes House and Gardens . The fun run will be around the Newhailes house and will take runners alongside the ladies walk through the Crown and around the park trails.

Post race drink and snacks. Race momento.

Hot and cold drinks and refreshments will be available in the Weehailes Playpark.

Newhailes Trail Run 10K

Registration 8.30am - 9.30am in the Gazebos by the start area.

9.35am Runners make their way to the start line.

Offering mixed terrain trail paths around and outwith the 86 acres of the Newhailes House and gardens. Unique views of the 17th century Palladian villa and across the Forth. 

ENTRY FEE

10k          (min. age 16yrs on the day of the run)        

£16.00 via entry central (first 50 entries)

£18.00 via entry central (next 40 entries)

£19.00 up to 23rd November.

Online entries preferred. Limited on the day entries £22.00.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Clear route maps will be posted on our Facebook page two weeks prior and at the race registration.  This is a trail run, you will be running on some uneven surfaces for example on the tracks through woods. Runners should come adequately prepared for uneven, tarmac and mud surfaces.

All routes are extensively sign posted and well marshalled. Safety is paramount and we expect runners to follow the advice of marshals at all times & take all reasonable precaution.

Please be courteous towards public dog walkers and other path users as they have equal rights and access to trails and paths in and round the estate.

Every competitor is asked to confirm their safe arrival back at the finish desk even if they have not been able to complete the course.

Your vehicle and belongings are your own responsibility and the organisers accept no liability for loss, damage, or theft.

Race Numbers will be issued at registration. 

We reserve the right to start the prize giving once 80% of competitors complete the course.

Adverse weather conditions on the day may cause the race to be rescheduled.

Please ensure you write your emergency contact details on the reverse of your race number.

First Aid / Injuries: These events can be strenuous, and the organisers cannot accept responsibility for any accidents or injuries. A First-aid team will be available at the Start and Finish areas. Anyone withdrawing during the event must report to the finish team.

Car Parking: Come by public transport if possible. Once the Newhailes House and Gardens carpark (there may be a National Trust parking charge) is full there is nearby on road parking in the Newhailes industrial estate and neighbouring area.

Facilities: Toilet facilities can be found alongside the Stables Courtyard. The organisers accept no responsibility for loss of clothing or equipment.

Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the first 3 male and female runners and the first O40 Male and female (unless in the top 3 overall and then a roll down applies).

Refreshments: Drinks and food will be available at (or near) the finish. 

Results:  The full official results will be put onto the event's web-site ASAP and emailed to competitors. Depending on numbers signing up, chip timing may not be used for this event. Should an accurate or backup time be required runners should wear their own stopwatch.

The Course: The 10k route navigates its way around the 86 acre estate and outwith and is likely to follow a 2 lap running course.

Spectator Refreshments: Refreshments will be available at the Doocot Diner in the Weehailes Playpark throughout the event.

Cancellation: In the event of extreme weather, the race may be cancelled and re-arranged for a later date. In the event of this race being cancelled your entry will be automatically transferred to a rescheduled date. This date will be decided by Scurry Events (most likely the following week). If you are unable to make this date then a 25% refund can be made.

In the event of abandonment, postponement or cancellation of the event, we will have no responsibility for any costs incurred because of cancellation, including travel or accommodation costs.

Participant withdrawal / Refund policy: If for any reason after registration you wish to withdraw from the event: Any time up until 30 days from the date of the event you can login to entry central and organise a transfer with someone you know or email for a 50% refund. Between 30 days and 14 days from the event you can login to entry central and organise a transfer with someone you know or email for a 25% refund. No refunds will be given within 14 days. Participants who do not attend the event will not receive any form of refund/credit. During the event: no refunds will be given.

Newhailes Fun Run 1.6Km

Registration 8.30am - 9.30am for the 10km and 5km events in the gazebos by the start / finish area (and up to 11am for the 1.6km fun run)

Race Briefing 11.25am

1.6km race start time at 11.30am (no prizes awarded).

Set around the 17th century Palladian villa and gardens.  

ENTRY FEE 

1.6km (children under 10 must run with an adult / accompanying are adults free - just child sign up required).

£5.50 via entry central (first 30 entries)

£6.50 up to 23rd November.

Online entries preferred. On the day entries £7.50 (accompanying are adults free).

The course is not suitable for push chairs and baby prams. Run buggies with off road capability can enter and dogs are permitted on leads.
