Scurry in the dark, Newhailes 7km and 4km trail runs

04 Apr 2019

This Festival is in a testing state, and is not open for public sign-ups until the organiser has launched it.

Organiser's Description

Welcome to the first Scurry in the Dark at Newhailes 7km and 4km trail running event.

Scurry Events are hosting this event on behalf of Newhailes House and Gardens.

Both the 4km and 7km trail's will run varied laps around the 86 acre estate grounds. There will be a few extra challenges (easy obstacles) along the trails as well as a colourful lit up section of the estate woodland trails.

A post race soup and a roll is incuded within your entry along with a race goody bag after crossing the line.

This event is being run to increase awareness of the Newhailes house and gardens facilities - the Weehailes Playpark,  the  17th century Palladium villa and gardens and the renovation of the Stables Courtyard cafe facilities.

A charitable donation will go towards the National Trust for Scotland (SC 007410).

The trail runs are clearly marked and marshalled mixed terrain routes with lit up sections and extra challenges along the way for everyone to enjoy.

Safety: Due to the type of event and the terrain there is a higher risk potential than a 'normal' trail event. Our biggest priority is the well-being of our participants and as such there will be experienced medical personnel based at the start/finish area. We simply ask and expect all participants to be courteous and careful whilst fully enjoying the event.

Head torches will be compulsory. Petzl will have head torches on display and to purchase at the event but please try to come prepared. Petzl head torches are also be available at Run and Become

We will look forward to seeing you there.
