Glenrothes Triathlon Festival
We warmly invite you to join us for our second Glenrothes Triathlon Festival on Sunday 9th September at Michael Woods Sports and Leisure Centre. The festival features 2 races that include a sprint (for the seasoned triathlete) and a novice (for the beginners/first timers). The races are open to all and the event is very inclusive. So why not come along and give it a go.
NOVICE which consists of a swim/cycle/run format over a distance of 400m (16 lengths)/10km/3km
SPRINT which consists of a swim/cycle/run format over a distance of 750m (30 lengths)/20km/5km
Race entry includes a colourful designed medal, a draw string goody bag full of awesomeness and a water bottle. Outstanding!!
Cost of Entry
NOVICE Entry is £28 or £26 if you are a member of British Triathlon Federation/Triathlon Scotland
SPRINT Entry is £35 or £33 if you are a member of British Triathlon Federation/Triathlon Scotland
Closing date for entries is midnight Friday 31st August 2018. There will be NO entries on the day.
Registration for the race opens at 8.15am. Race briefing will take place at 9am with the first heat taking place at 9.15am.

Swim: The swim will take place in the pool of the Michael Woods Sport and Leisure Centre. There will be several heats starting at 9.15am. You will be advised of your heat on the day. Swim can be completed using any stroke so don't worry too much about front crawl.
Bike: The cycle is a 10km undulating bike loop (or 2 loops if doing the Sprint route) that features Glenrothes Airport and the lovely countryside. Your bike must be roadworthy ie brakes working, tyres ok etc. Helmets must be worn at all times during cycle. There is no 'drafting' allowed in these races as per Triathlons Scotland's rules. Run: The run will be on good paths for the majority of the run. The routes are below:-

Both routes will be adequately marshalled with lots of signage.
It is the competitors responsibility for their own safety and to abide by the Highway Code.
Changing, toilet and cafe facilities are available at the Sports Centre. There is plenty of parking on site.
Will be as close to 1.30pm as the event allows. The prizes have been generously donated by our sponsors Balbirnie House Hotel and Leslie Bike Shop. The bags and bottles have been donated by Velux Windows.
The event is chip timed and the results will be published as soon as possible post event.
