Organiser's Description

LET'S GET MOVING - HAZLEHEAD SPEED ENDURANCE EVENING

Here we go again on the Hazlehead track with an action-packed one hour of mainly speed endurance fun designed to help improve your running form and pace. It's an ideal session for 5k and 10k runners but no matter what distance you enjoy, this one will help you.

The course is well lit and traffic free and the session is geared for all abilities.

Here's what we plan to do:

Intro/Warm-up/Drills etc

Starter: 5mins of 3-person 100m relay

Rep 1: 600m max
Everyone runs towards the 300m point.
When the first runner reaches 300m everyone turns and runs back to the start.
End of rep
90secs recovery

Rep 2: 800m max
Everyone runs to the 400m point.
When the first runner reaches 400m everyone turns and runs back to the start.
End of rep.
90secs recovery

Rep 3: 1600m max
Everyone runs towards the 400m point.
When the first runner reaches 400m everyone turns and runs back to the start.
When the first runner reaches the start, everyone turns and runs to the 400m point.
When the first runner reaches 400m everyone turns and runs back to the start.

90secs recovery

Rep 4: 800m max
Everyone runs to the 400m point.
When the first runner reaches 400m everyone turns and runs back to the start.
End of rep.
90secs recovery

Rep 5: 600m max
Everyone runs towards the 300m point.
When the first runner reaches 300m everyone turns and runs back to the start.
End of rep

Finisher: 5mins of 3-person 100m relay

Cool down + stretches

 It'll be a fun evening, but it'll also make you work.

This will be an ideal session for all abilities.

Coaching, encouragement and good advice will be on hand throughout.

TUESDAY 6pm to 7pm

Location: Hazlehead ParkMEET AT THE TOP OF THE RUNNING TRACK 

Cost: £6 per person.

We are adhering to Scottish Government, Sportscotland and scottishathletics guidelines.

The guidelines could be reviewed at any time so the situation could change.

You must stay at home if you:

• Have tested positive for Covid-19.

• You are a household contact of a positive Covid-19 case.

• Have Covid-19 symptoms.

• Have been asked to self-isolate at home by the Scottish Government Test and Protect system.

If you are returning from a country outside the UK, you must follow the Scottish Government guidance on quarantine.
