Organiser's Description

BEACH PROM BURN-UP

Join us for a a sizzling session at Aberdeen Beach. In recent weeks we've been running on grass and trails but now we are returning to a paved surface for a series of reps over a variety of distances. This workout will help develop your speed on a flat and fast traffic-free course.

We'll meet at the car park in Seaton Park where you'll be guided through some activation exercises to fire up the system. We'll then enjoy a slow warm-up jog over to the top end of the beach prom at Bridge of Don where the main part of the session will start.

And we'll finish up with another slow jog cool down and some easy stretches.

We'll have a back-up plan if the weather doesn't co-operate!

This is an all-inclusive session suitable for runners of all levels of experience and ability.

Coaching, encouragement and good advice will be on hand throughout.

Covid restrictions mean there are only 13 places available so sign up now.

Please be there ready for a 6pm start. The session lasts one hour and includes our warm-up and cool down routines.

** We are not yet able to hold our 5k time trial but will contact all of you who have signed up for this as soon as we have a definite date.

COVID GUIDELINES

We are adhering to Scottish Government, Sportscotland and scottishathletics guidelines.

In summary, these are:

Training groups and sizes:

All training sessions should be delivered and/or set by a UKA licensed coach (Athletics Coach/Level 2

+) or leader and delivered in accordance with the UKA Coaching Code of Practice.

Whilst the guidelines have been relaxed (as outlined below) on the field of play, scottishathletics strongly recommends that physical distancing should be adhered to on the field of play whenever possible, thus reducing the risk of virus transmission.

A “field of play bubble” for all ages means that physical distancing can be suspended for the duration of the activity. At all other times physical distancing must be maintained for individuals aged 12+.

Athletes must not congregate with other athletes outside their bubble prior to, and following, the coaching session.

Adult ‘group’ sport or activity refers to adults, who take part in organised sport or physical activity, where the number of participants is larger than allowed under normal household rules.
