Organiser's Description

Kinross Road Runners invite you to enter one or all of our virtual challenges.

Due to the current pandemic and with no real sign of actual races taking place KRR have decided to host 4 virtual challenges based around our 3 club races with the addition of a marathon challenge for those that want to test themselves further.

Each challenge  has an entry fee of £5.00 with the option to choose a bespoke medal to add to your bling for an additional £4.50, which we'll post out to you. All profits from the 4 challenges go directly to the clubs chosen charities. So the more challenges you enter, the more the charities receive. You can also get the kids involved if you wish and have them complete the challenges too, as long as they are completely supervised by an adult.

As well as the challenges and the medals, there is an event page on our official Facebook page for you to post your results, ask questions and share pics and stories of your challenges. We'll also have the addition of finisher tables for each challenge and to top it all we have 15 race entries to give away for the 2021 season, that's 5 place in each of our races with one chance to win for every challenge you enter.

You'll be able to follow all the latest news and results on the Virtual Challenge Facebook Group.

Loch Leven Half Marathon Challenge

Based on our most popular race, the LLHM challenge is just that.... 13.1 miles of your chosen route and should not be run on the actual LLHM route. You can run, walk or cycle the challenge and if you really want to challenge yourself, then why not include the minimum elevation (407ft) from the actual race

Milnathort Dash Challenge

The Dash challenge is our shortest event. It's 5.2 miles of your chosen route. Do it at your leisure or as fast as you can. You can run, walk or cycle and if you wish, you can include the minimum elevation (394ft) from the actual race.

Path Of Condie Half Marathon Challenge

Usually the toughest of our 3 club events. The POC challenge is 13.1 miles of your chosen route. You can run, walk or cycle the challenge. Again, if you really want to embrace the Path Of Condie challenge, then you can include the eye-watering minimum elevation (1224ft) for the full POC experience.

KRR Marathon Challenge

Our marathon challenge is just that. Run walk or cycle 26.2 miles of your chosen route. This can be done in one session or over several. You can run walk or cycle, though we would recommend you put some training in for this if you've never done the distance before. The challenge is open for a few months, so plenty of time to get in shape if you need to.

Proof of completion

Once you have completed a challenge, you can send a link or upload a screenshot to our event page on Facebook or to the virtual challenge email account that you'll receive in you email confirmation when entered. You can only use a session once to complete a challenge, uploading the same session for different challenges is not allowed. (I know it's for fun and charity, but the whole point is to get you out exercising more and to stay motivated)

Medals

Medal are an option, with each challenge having it's own unique medal. You should only choose a medal if you have entered the challenge, so please choose carefully. These will be posted out to you to the address used when signing up. Medals will only be posted out when we receive them from our supplier (The Workshop in Aberfeldy) So please be patient and we'll get them to you as soon as we receive them. All 4 medals will go together to create one large medal.

Prizes

As an incentive to enter and a thank you from Kinross Road Runners in helping us to support our chosen charities, we have 15 race entries to our club races in 2021. That's 5 each for the Loch Leven Half Marathon, Milnathort Dash and the Path Of Condie Half Marathon. For each challenge that you enter, your name will go into the hat after the closing date. So the more challenges you enter, the more chances you have to win. We'll try and organise live event for the draw on Facebook if we can make it possible.
