Organiser's Description

Virtual Doorstep 10k Run

Proceeds to Teesside Hospice

In these strange times runners have little to aim for, so we have decided to have virtual 10k run.

The main reasons for holding this event are:

  • Raise funds for a local charity that provides an important service, even more so in these times but has difficulty in securing funding through its normal fundraising activities.
  • Supporting a local small business - Daves-Tees during these difficult times
  • Give runners something to focus on whilst getting their permited exercise during the lockdown.

We are inviting runners and walkers to take part.

You will be required to register with EntryCentral - previously this has been optional for our usual races but it is a requirement for this event so that you can login and provide your evidence of completing a qualifying run/walk - this evidence will be in the form of a public link to your activity on "strava", "garmin", "runkeeper", "tpks", "trainingpeaks".

What consitutes as quailfying run?

A run/walk of at least 10k between 10th May and 17th May that starts and finishes at your own doorstep.

Please adhere to the Covid-19 restrictions* in place on the day, currently:

  • This run/walk will be your exercise for the day chosen, alone, or with members of your household
  • You have 8 days available, so choose a route and day/time when it easiest to maintain 2m social distancing
  • Wash your hands when you get home

*The currrent rules (20th April) will be reviewed and may change by 10th May
