Loch Lomond Wee Beastie Triathlon

The infamous Loch Lomond Beastie Triathlons will be held in and on the banks of Loch Lomond at Balloch Castle Country Park on Saturday, July 30th 2022

Hi and welcome to the entrycentral for the Wee Beastie Triathlon 2022 (the beasties wee sibling). It is great to be back after 2 years out due to the COVID restrictions.  The wee beastie is a fun challenge and an exciting intro to triathlons if it is your first go at it.  Set in the beautiful and historic Balloch Country Park on the banks of Loch Lomond, the  Wee Beastie comprises a 400m swim in the Loch, 9k off road cycle and 3k run, finishing in front of the castle (on the exact spot were OASIS, RUNRIG and REM played all those years ago).  Each year we all have a great time and the public come out to cheer on the brave athletes.

We have some rules:

• Mountain bikes are compulsory, sorry no cyclocross or hybrid bikes. The course can be muddy, we did warn you (big tyres recommended), we suggets thta a hardtail with front suspension will be ideal.
• Wetsuits are compulsory if the temperature of the water is below 15C (basically always), we recommend that you wear one regardless of the temp, its much safer and you dont want to get left behind.
• You must smile at the marshals, they are volunteers and if you don’t they will send you the wrong way (just kidding they will always point you in the right direction)
• The cycle is two laps of the course and the run is one lap.

Each athlete will receive some fantastic goodies to remind you of completing the Loch Lomond Beastie Triathlon.

In the unfortunate event you need to withdraw from the race please let us know at the earliest opportunity as it may be possible to offer the place to another person.

Withdrawals up to MAY 30th 2021 will receive a full refund, then up to JUNE 30th 2021 it will be a 75% refund. Sadly we cant provide refunds after June 30th 2021.
