Loch Lomond Beastie Triathlon

Sadly the Lomond beastie has been cancelled for 2021 :(

The infamous Loch Lomond Beastie Triathlons will be held in and on the banks of Loch Lomond at Balloch Castle Country Park on Saturday, July 24th 2021.

Hi and welcome to the entrycentral for the Lomond Beastie Triathlon 2021, this year is our 20^th year (we can’t believe it either).  The beastie is one of the most challenging and exciting triathlons in the UK.  Set in the beautiful and historic Balloch Country Park on the banks of Loch Lomond, the Beastie comprises a 750m swim in the Loch, 17k off road cycle and 5k run, finishing in front of the castle (on the exact spot OASIS, RUNRIG and REM played all those years ago).  Each year we all have a fantastic time and the public come out to cheer on the brave athletes.

We have some rules:

• Mountain bikes are recommended (with muckle big grippy tyres) however hybrid and cyclocross can take part, but without prizes (no drop handle bars, they upset triscotland). The course can be muddy, we did warn you!
• Wetsuits are compulsory if the temperature of the water is below 15C (basically always)
• You must smile at the marshals, they are volunteers and if you don’t they will send you the wrong way.
• The cycle is three laps of the course and the run is two laps, so the ability to count is recommended 😊

Each athlete will receive a glamorous medal and other fantastic goodies to remind you of completing the Loch Lomond Beastie Triathlon. And there are age group prizes for 1sr 2nd and 3rd. 

In the unfortunate event you need to withdraw from the race please let us know at the earliest opportunity as it may be possible to offer the place to another person.

Withdrawals up to MAY 30th 2021 will receive a full refund, then up to JUNE 30th 2021 it will be a 75% refund. Sadly we cant provide refunds after June 30th 2021.
