Organiser's Description

Hi all,

A member of the club, Iain Sime, will be running a Learn to Navigate weekend, based in Snowdonia (final location TBC), for 6 people on the 19th and 20th of October @ £25 each

Fully instructed, spending 2 days in the mountains, with a focus on learning navigation skills for both fair weather mountain days and night/poor weather navigation and relocation. Iain is Ml, RCI and CWDI qualified.

You will be wild camping for the night and expected to carry all of your kit for both days. Therefore you will need to have a good level of fitness and adequate footwear, rucksack and clothing. You won’t bit sticking to paths much of the time, so waterproof, high ankle hiking boots are needed. You’ll be carrying you tent, sleeping bag, food and clothes, so a comfortable rucksack (approx. 60L) is important. The trip will go ahead in all weather, baring extreme wind, so you’ll need to have flexible and waterproof clothing.

Iain has some items for hire:
Tent: £10
Roll mat: £2
Rucksack: £10
Stove: £5
Compass: Free of charge

Below is the recommended kit list. If you have any questions regarding this, please do ask well in advance of the trip.
