Organiser's Description

Chacefield Wood Halloween Run:
- It is as a ‘run’ and NOT a 'race'
- It’s at night - so you'll need a good working head torch
- It’s at Halloween time
- It’s in a dark & scary wood
- You get to dress up
- It's some awesome trail running

29th October – 7.8km – Entry cost £9 (£1 optional donation towards Denny 867 RAF Cadet marshals)
Run Registration, Start & Finish:
Tented registration is at the same location as the Start/Finish and just a 400m walk from the access off Glasgow Road (A872).
Registration will be available from 7.00pm, the run briefing will commence at 7.25pm and the run will start at 7.30pm. Belongings can be left hung up in the tent(s) during the run.

The Course:
The run distance is made up of 3 No. 2.8km clockwise laps within the dark and scary Chacefield Wood. The lap is a mix of forest tracks/paths and natural rutted, boggy trails both in sheltered woodland and open ground.
Each lap is entirely off-road but suitable for ordinary trainers or trail shoes (not suitable for spikes).
Each lap begins with a 1km gradual descent on the main forest track before progressively getting narrower, heading into the depths of the wood and onto more demanding trail sections. These include twists & turns, fallen trees, water crossings and short steep ups & downs.
You’ll need a good few metres of clear space in front of you to negotiate many of the features of the latter part of the lap.
The lap will be marshalled and arrowed at all junctions, section 1.7km to 2.3km of each lap will be fully marker taped due to its route.

We are advising the parking to be as follows:

- Drove Road, which is a 2 lane one-way residential access road immediately opposite the access into the wood.

We shall be working alongside the awesome 867 Denny Squadron - RAF Air Cadets to assist with the various marshalling duties at the races.

Changing and Toilet Facilities:
There are no changing or toilet facilities within the wood. The closest facilities are:
Changing & Toilets – Denny Sports Centre (1 mile away) FK6 5DX.

There will be a supply of bottled water at the Start/Finish.

Awards will be presented for the best, or better yet, worst dressed participant.

There will be no official event photographer, but participants are welcome to share/post images to the FB page.
