Organiser's Description
You are signing up for Forth Canoe Club's Coach Award Discipline Specific Training: Sheltered Water Canoe and Kayak
Your sessions are Friday/Saturday 9th/10th of August
This is a 2 day intensive course at a cost of £165 (which DOES NOT include membership of Forth Canoe Club). All participants should bring a packed lunch and snacks each day.
What is the cost?
The course costs £165.
Your course fees cover the costs boat & equipment hire and coach fees.
Where should you go? We will begin the course at 9am at Boroughmuir Rugby Club on Saturday. Please chose a kayak from the boathouse beforehand and make sure it is signed out for the weekend. The OC fleet has been signed out.
What you should bring with you
We ask that you bring a bottle of water, lunch, and a snack. In addition you will need suitable clothing for kayaking (a fleece, warm t-shirt/thermal, tracksuit trousers, cagoule/windproof, hat and towel) and a change of clothes and footwear in case they get wet. We encourage you to wear footwear in the kayaks, plimsolls are ideal.

When to arrive
Please arrive at Boroughmuir rugby club at 5 to 9. Please do have chosen your kayak and signed it out before coming down to the path to avoid disappointment from other users.
Why do I have to fill in all these forms?
We appreciate it takes time to complete the forms but we have a requirement to provide our coaches with up to date information about the students they will be coaching - their needs, medical issues and emergency details - please work with us to give our coaches the information they need.

As part of the sign up process you will be asked to give consent for Forth Canoe Club to act on your behalf in the event of an incident or illness affecting you.

As part of the sign up process you will be asked to give consent to be treated by a trained first aider and/or medical professional, should this be necessary.

As part of the sign up process you will also be asked to give consent for you to participate in all the activities involved in this course, and understand there is a degree of risk involved in these activities.
DATA USAGE
Forth Canoe Club will keep a record of members’ names and addresses and contact details on a computer accessible to the Forth Canoe Club Committee. Your record may be inspected by contacting the Membership Secretary. We are affiliated to the SCA and will pass on your data for insurance and membership statistics use.
