JOIN US FOR THE FIRST EVER COWDENBEATH 5K
Sunday 8th September 2019 - 12 Noon
Organised by Jog Cowdenbeath, Cowdenbeath Civic Week Committee, Cowdenbeath Football Club and sponsored by Glenfield Self Storage.
This event will start and finish at Central Park Stadium - home of Cowdenbeath FC. This is a multi-terrain, undulating course over approximately 5K. This route is over different surfaces including loose stones, footpaths pavements and roads. Not all roads on the route will be closed and and you will be running alongside traffic.
Event will be chip timed and all finishers will receive a medal.
Participants must be 12 years or older on the day of the race.
There will be children's races in the stadium and family friendly activities during the race.
Male: Overall 1st 2nd & 3rd, 1st Junior, 1st V40, 1st V50, 1st V60 and 1st V70
Female: Overall 1st, 2nd & 3rd, 1st Junior, 1st V40, 1st V50, 1st V60 and 1st V70
All finishers are eligible in the overall category and their own age group. However only 1 prize per finisher will be awarded with the overall category taking precedence.
This is a non-profit event.

IMPORTANT - to make sure you get your discount; club members should make sure they select "ARC Affiliated Club" in the "I'm a member of" drop-down in the signup page. Members of Scottish Athletics, etc. should select the appropriate option. If you select "None of these", you will NOT get your discount.
Our events are insured and permitted by the Governing Body Association of Running Clubs and are held Under ARC Rules.
Please note entries are non-refundable and non-transferable.
This race is pre-entry only and no entries will be available on the day.
Number pick-up will be at Central Park Stadium, High Street, Cowdenbeath, KY4 9QQ from 10:00 am to 11:30 am on race day. This will also be the start and end point of the race.
There will be a short pre-race briefing at 11:45 am the race will start promptly at 12 noon.
Facilities & Parking
Parking, changing facilities, toilets and bag storage available at the stadium.
Presentation of awards will take place after the race.
There will also be food and drinks available to purchase in the stadium.
Health & Safety
AS THE RACE IS BEING RUN ON OPEN ROADS, UK ATHLETICS RULES STATE THAT FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY REASONS, HEADPHONES MUST NOT BE WORN DURING THE RACE. RUNNERS WHO IGNORE THIS, WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE RACE.
ALL RUNNERS MUST ADHERE TO POLICE AND MARSHAL INSTRUCTIONS. ANYONE FOUND TO BE DISOBEYING ORDERS WILL BE DISQUALIFED.
You should have a sufficient standard of fitness to be able to complete the course and have no known medical condition that would adversely affect your ability to run or cause the race organiser concern. You are reminded not to run if you feel ill or have a cold or flu on race day as this could be potentially dangerous to your health. Do not take part if you have any respiratory illness or any recent medical condition that impacts on your ability to safely carry out strenuous exercise.
