Organiser's Description

We are delighted to invite you to the 2019 Triathlon Scotland National Coaching Conference, taking place on Sunday 24th March 2019 at the base of the Triathlon Scotland National Performance Centre at the University of Stirling.

Sign up discounts are available, please read on for more information.

Our 2019 Conference is designed to provide you with the opportunity to learn, share practice and grow your networks to support your development as a coach.  It will provide a mixture of practical coaching opportunities and learning from industry experts to ensure that you have the opportunity to develop all-round coaching skills.

In the morning you have the choice of attending one of our discipline-specific masterclasses, aimed at supporting your technical and direct coaching delivery skills in either swim, bike or run.

In the afternoon, the sessions will focus on the wider remit of coaching with a selection of workshops covering topical areas. These are aimed at widening your knowledge base including your understanding of the psychological aspects of sports performance, providing the right environment for athletes and coaches to thrive, and how to effectively programme your training plans.

We have also added an option to use some time in the afternoon for informal networking if you wish to catch-up with one of your fellow coaches who you may not have seen for a while to share ideas! Our day will then culminate with a session aimed at developing your skills in swim stroke analysis and correction.

For the afternoon sessions, you will have the opportunity to attend two of the four sessions detailed above. Please note that the ‘Informal Networking’ session is not facilitated and has been added to the agenda to provide coaches with time to catch-up with other coaches and discuss the sharing of coaching practice.

Please be aware that whilst we will endeavour to allocate all coaches their preferred session, due to the limited number of spaces we have in each session this may not be possible.

In order to get the most out of our fantastic conference team, numbers are limited so make sure you sign up soon to avoid missing out!  The conference is heavily subsidised for Triathlon Scotland members and is just £48 for the full day including lunch and refreshments.

However, we have two special offers to entice you along!

Individuals - If you sign up before Sunday 10th February you will receive £5 off your ticket price.

Clubs – if you wish to send a group of coaches to the conference, for every 4 coaches, one will go free.

Please contact us directly to discuss the club offer in more detail.

Additional funding towards the cost of the conference may be available through the Sports Development team within your Local Authority. Please be sure to contact your Local Authority for further information.

Full conference information including speakers and session content will be released on our social media channels over the coming weeks!

It's a great opportunity to share best practice, network with other coaches, learn from some of the leading coaches in sport and most importantly, to enjoy developing your skills.

If you're not able to make it yourself, then do please pass on to your network and coaching teams.  The sessions are designed for coaches of all abilities and experiences so please encourage your newly qualified coaches to come along.  We look forward to seeing you there!
