RVCC 5 Forests MTB Challenge
06 Jan 19
Welcome to the entry pages for the 5 Forest MTB Challenge
Back in our 4th year of hosting this event and we are very proud to announce that this was the winner of the 2018 event of the year at the local sports council awards. As a club, we were delighted to have received this award , against some very solid competition, and as a result we wish to make this the "must do" event early in the 2019 calender.
taking in the 5 forests of the Roe Valley area, the views and scenery are nothing but spectacular. A fully marked and marshalled event takes riders on the Ulster Way route through Binevenagh, Grange, Springwell, Drumrammer and the Cam Forest before returning back to the HQ to receive some refuelling.. this is where RVCC excel and we are delighted that the past years have had participants 'raving' about the spread being better than the event itself....After over 3000ft of climbing over the 30 mile route you will be ready for some sustinance , we can assure you.
we always offer some cracking merchandise to mark the event and this year is no exception.. as this is a winter event, this year we are offering a break from the norm and it will be a very useful piece of winter cycling kit in the form of an event beanie/skull cap, however this will be on a first come first served basis and we will have beanies for the first 300 entries only.. we advise people considering this event to enter asap to secure their place and the merchandise..
Entry fee £15.00
This entry fee is for Cycling Ireland members and proof of membership is essential on the day. There will be a £5.00 payable on the day additional charge for non Cycling Ireland members to cover insurance costs as directed by Cycling Ireland
for this entry fee you will have:
full marked and marshalled route
stocked food and water stations
post event showering facilities
post event food
mechanical repair facility
we wil endeavour to provide carparking for all using a number of local carparks that will be manned on the day. please follow the signs and advise from marshalls on the day so that we can keep the road outside the HQ as clear as possible for health and safety reasons..
If the event is cancelled for reasons beyond the organiser’s control, (e.g. adverse weather conditions, major incident etc.) the organisers will make every reasonable attempt to reschedule the event. Original entrants will have their entry automatically transferred unless they advise RVCC that they do not wish to transfer to the rescheduled event in writing within 7 days of the original event date..
