The club has access to Glan Dena in Wales for a weekend of climbing, walking, biking and anything else you can think of (wriggle stone Steve1?)
Payment will be via entry central, I'll update with the link once its sorted.
Its quite luxurious for a climbing hut- There are good showers, a very nice lounge with a wood burning stove and a massive kitchen. There is plenty of parking, however it is somewhat remote - unless you want to drive to get some all food and drink that you want to have over the weekend should be.
There is space for some camping and enough parking for vans (as long as people car share going up) but you'll have to pay the same fees as if your staying in the hut. If you want to do this contact me directly after the initial run of beds has sold out and i'll sort you out.
There is also camping over the road (which is very cheap), but if you come into the hut at any point you'll need to pay the "day fee" of £4 for the weekend. If you park your van on the road (not on the huts property) its the £4 day fee (not the full cost of the hut). Don't be tight as the club will get charged regardless of whether you "think" you used the hut or not and its only £4... The day fee is paid in cash on the weekend not via entry central.

For insurance reasons these trips are aimed at ESC members and for that reason they will have been emailed a £10 discount code. If you are not a member and try to use the code your ticket will be invalidated by us and give me a headache so please don't! The discount code only works for one person at a time so if you want to pay for multiple people with a code just buy one ticket at a time.
If your not a member of the club you count as a prospective member for insurance reasons (ie are covered) for the first trip you did with the club. If you've been coming on club trips for longer than that you'll need to join up to come.
The breakdown of the costs is as follows:
2 nights ESC member - £30
2 nights NON member - £40
If we decide to do a communal meal we can all chip in on the day.
Make sure you add yourself to the Facebook event page arrange for car sharing. If your not on facebook get in touch and I'll help sort you a lift. The process for car sharing is as follows; if you can offer a lift then post on the facebook event where you live and how many spaces you have, if you want a lift comment underneath that persons post untill the car is full. Costs are set by the driver and split between everyone in the car.
We hope to have members from all branches of ESC coming along so there should be plenty of opportunites for lift sharing wherever you live.
Activities for the weekend
There won't be any "organised" activities as such for the weekend - just shout about what you want to do and get together in groups to do it.
There's masses to do nearby including, mountain biking, hill walking, climbing and some swimming in the lake!
We expect everyone coming to have passed their belay test if they want to climb.
What you need to bring
Food and alcohol for the weekend - this hut is miles from anywhere (party!) but that means you'll have to bring everything you want to drink (and eat) with you.
Sleeping bag and pillow case (there are pillows but you need to have your own case for it).
Any gear you have that you need for the activities including a bike if your going biking (or find somewhere nearby to hire one). if you are a novice climber and need any gear (including harness and helmets) please let the committee know in advance via the facebook page - the club has gear which can be loaned out to members, but it will need arranging with the committee to make sure its brought up.
FINALLY (and most importantly)
Cleaning the hut
Its very important that EVERYONE chips in and helps clean the hut at the end of the weekend and leaves it in the same state (or better) than we found it.
There will be a list of jobs to tick off and they will all need to be done. Use your common sense here - don't mop the floors first thing and then cross it off the list...
If it gets left to a few people to do it then the hut won't be booked for next years trip!
For each sign-up, the organiser pays the Service Fee of 4% (min 50p). You pay no surcharge
