This race is based around Tumbles formerly known as Portobello Indoor Bowling Centre.20 Westbank Street, Edinburgh, EH15 1DR. We are using the same route as last year.
The Start and Finish are both close to Tumbles. After the Start the route goes to the old start at the Dog and Cat Home, turns, goes all the way to the usual turn at Joppa, then back to Tumbles to Finish. It is as in the past a flat accurate 4 mile race. Clear route maps will be posted at Registration.
Entry Fee is £7.00 for affiliated club runners and £9.00 for unaffiliated runners.
Entrants need to have been born before 31st August 2002.
The race is limited to 400 entries.
Entry closing date is Thursday 28th December 2017.
NO ENTRIES on the day even if the limit of 400 has not been reached.
Race Numbers will be issued from 9.15am on the day of the race at Registration which is located at Tumbles.
The number you were allocated by Entry Central is not the one you will receive at Registration on 1st Jan.
We will order the numbers alphabetically by second name. At registration there will be several queues split by second name. To speed things up please make sure you get in the right queue.
Race Numbers are not exchangeable and no-one will be allowed to compete without one.
The race starts at 10.30am.
In the event of the race having to be cancelled entry fees will not be refunded.
After event expenditure all surplus will go to charity including MND Scotland (Motor Neuron Disease Scotland).
Presented at approximately 11.15am inside Tumbles, upstairs in the cafe area.
Prizes which will be Run and Become Vouchers.
Male: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 1st Over 40, 1st Over 50, 1st Over 60, 1st Junior
Female: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 1st Over 40, 1st Over 50, 1st Over 60, 1st Junior.
Car parking is available close to Tumbles .Toilet facilities are also available here.
Tea, coffee, biscuits etc should be available to purchase upstairs before, during and after the race.
There will be a 1 mile Fun Run starting at 10.00am.
Entries are on the day £2.00 per person.
Entries close at 9.45am.
This is chiefly intended for athletes who are too young to compete in the 4 mile race.
We are again supporting MND Scotland (Motor Neuron Disease Scotland)
Once all expenses for staging the race have been paid the remainder will go to charity. We were able to donate £1736 from the event staged 1/1/2017. Thank you.
