Please bring your membership card to registration – no card no reduction.
Registration will be held on Aberystwyth promenade from 06-30 to 07-45. If you have entered as a BTF/WTA member you will need to bring your BTF/WTA membership card to registration as this will allow us to waiver the day licence. You will be body marked right arm and left leg with your race numbers. You will also receive a coloured swim hat, race t-shirt and any other items we have for you to take away.
Your swim hat indicates which wave of the swim you will be start in.
Will take place for competitors on the beach. Please be changed ready to go as we will be starting the race shortly after.
Will be in a cl ockwise direction starting between the jetty and the pier. There will be 2 buoys out in the bay. Turn right at each to make your way back to the swim exit. Depending on entry levels we may have waves going off approximately 10 minutes apart, but this may change on the day. The tide will be on its way in so you have no fear of being swept out to Ireland.
You will exit the swim on the left side of the bandstand looking towards the town. Transition will be located in the motor cycle park and you will be directed there by Marshals. Entry to transition is on the left side of the park. Racking will be labelled according to wave start. Exit to the cycle route will be on the right of the park. Transition line will be on the main road (Marine Terrace) near the zebra crossing and it will be well marshalled. PLEASE NOTE THAT FAILURE TO OBEY THE TRANSITION LINE MARSHALLS WILL LEAD TO DISQUALIFICATION. ALSO THERE IS TO BE NO NUDITY IN TRANSITION AS THIS WILL ALSO LEAD TO DISQUALIFACATION.
The Bike route will take you along Marine Terrace. After 400 metres you will turn right. Continue across the crossroads and up onto North Road for 1k to a left turn onto Penglais Hill – THIS IS A HAZARD POINT THAT WILL BE WELL MARSHALLED AND YOU MUST LISTERN TO THE MARSHALS AT ALL TIMES. Go up Penglais Hill and down to Bow Street, on to Talybont, Taliesin and the turn around point at Tre-Ddol and return back the same way you came (take care through these villages as they do have some narrow places which will be marshalled). There is a varying speed limit down Penglais Hill please stick to it as there will be traffic turning across you. At the bottom of the hill again listen to the marshals as you have a right turn up on to North Road. Transition line is on the zebra crossing and you will need to cross the road to get back into transition. Please once again listen to the marshals.
Is out of transition and turn right along to the end of the prom you will be directed up towards the golf course to a turn around point. Return back along the prom to the bandstand and continue on to the harbour to a second turnaround point and back to the bandstand to the finish
Will be located by the bandstand, water will be available at the finish – please take a drink to help you re-hydrate after your race.
