The Viper 15 mile trail run
28 Aug 17
A new longer snake titled race has been added to our 2017 calender! It offers a good workout for those signed up the the Chelmsford Marathon later in the autumn.
The venue: Admirals Park is situated in the county town of Chelmsford, Essex. Those of you who do the local parkrun will know our start/finish location as "The hill!"....others as the venue for the summer beer festival.
Parking: A car park is nearby, but has limited spaces. There are plenty of further car-parks in town. Bicycle racking is located at the start finish area too, so ideal for those who live locally or triathletes in training.
Registration: Registration is open from 08.20am until 09.20am near the start line / toilet block.
This is where you will collect your race bag that contains your race number, high vis' event tee-shirt and a gel or bar from http://32gi.co.uk/. Safety pins are available at registration too. We encourage you to wear the T-shirt during the race.
Please show us your TRA membership cards (if applicable) to confirm your eligibility for the discount received when you complete the online registration process (£2 fee if you forget it.)
Race numbers to be worn unfolded on your front so we can record your finish times.
Race Briefing 0920hrs. RACE START IS 0930hrs. Cut off is 1300hrs.
This is a mainly an off-road run with some sections on the open road, so headphones and similar are banned on safety grounds.
A full narrative will be available to download from our website from August 2017.
Follow bright pink and yellow marker paint along with the bright orange tape. Limited signs on course to minimise the chances of route sabotage!
Dog runners are allowed, but must be on a short lead at all times.
You will be given a bottle of water at the start. If you wish to carry it with you, you can exchange it for fresh bottles at the water station. Big thanks to Essex & Suffolk Water for supplying the water.
No littering on course. If you can take it out with you, you can bring it back too!
You'll pass the water station twice. Please pause so we can record your number (safety head count).
You are expected to be self sufficient on the run. We may have a lead bike and will have a backmarker marshall sweeping the course with SJA in attendance.
At the finish line of the race collect a finishers medal, help yourself to cupped water, then head home to recover!
Awards for top three of males and females.
Full results will be on our website within 24hrs.
