The Dundonald 10K Virtual Road Race

Date: From Wednesday 1st July 2020 till Wednesday 29th July 2020
Start Time: Whenever you choose
Limit: 300 runners. Minimum Age:15 years on day of race. Entry fee £8.00 or £10.00 for non-members of Scottish Athletics. PRE-ENTRY ONLY OBVIOUSLY. Please enter early to avoid disappointment. No numbers will be worn but you should use the race number allocated to you by Entry Central when reporting your result.
The race starts at Drybridge Road, Dundonald (55.580159, -4.597575) and finishes at Dundonald Castle (55.577625, -4.596031. The course could be described as undulating. The race is organised by the Dundonald Games Society as part of Games Week and prizes will be on offer. This is a Scottish Athletics Licensed event conducted under UK Athletics Rules.
As all runners will be running separately, it is advisable that everyone should run on the right hand side of the road facing on coming traffic as would be the case on a training run. A UK ATHLETICS RULE STATES THAT FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY REASONS, HEADPHONES MUST NOT BE WORN DURING THE RACE. RUNNERS WHO IGNORE THIS, RISK DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE RACE.
All finishers will receive a limited edition medal and prizes will be awarded to the fastest man and the fastest woman over the course and also to the fastest Dundonald man and fastest Dundonald woman.
Runners must submit their results by email to 10K@dundonald-games.org.uk within 24 hours of completing the course, and no later than 30th July 2020.
The information provided must include: full name, home address, age, sex, race time (in mins and secs) and the name of your running club if applicable.
Evidence of race participation must be included with your email. Examples include Strave screenshot showing course and time (or similar running app) or a photo of your wristwatch showing your finishing time. Participants should also include a photograph (selfie) of themselves at the finish line.
Please note there are no toilets or changing facilities and runners should ensure they carry a fully charged mobile phone in the case of emergency and ensure they have an adequate water supply.
