Cumnock Canter

The Cumnock Canter is a 100km circular ride on open roads from Troon in South Ayrshire.

It is a non-competitive social ride, the vast majority of which is on quiet 'B' grade roads.

Date: Sunday 11th June 2017

Start: 9.30am

Well signed route with gpx option and route sheet hand-out.

Drinks and light refreshments available at the finish (included in the price).

All finishers will receive an event medal, certificate and goody bag.

Overview: Starting at sea-level, the route climbs inland to flow along quiet, undulating and varied country roads through several small towns and villages such as Dundonald, Tarbolton, Mauchline,Cumnock and Annbank. 27km of the route run along roads used by the 2017 Tour of Ayrshire Gran Fondo.

With a generous 8 hour time-limit you can decide whether it's a day to be amongst the fast folk or a day to enjoy a tour using our 'sights and coffee stop' guide.

Please note that this is a non-competitive ride therefore it is up to the rider to time themselves if they so wish.

A rider information pack containing the route sheet, link to an online map and additional information as to location of toilets, shops, cafes, etc. on the route, will be emailed to participants one week prior to the event.

Entry fee: £10.00 to Cycling UK members - £12.00 to non-members

Enter your Cycling UK membership number during the event registration to qualify for the £2 discount.

Open to the following categories:

18 years and over.

All under 18s must have a completed, signed Parental Consent form.

All under 13s must also be accompanied by an adult on the ride.

Registration Time: 09.00 - 09.20

Route Safety Briefing: 09.25

Event Start Time: 9.30am - please note start may be staggered dependant on entry numbers.

Start Format: Riders leave at 2 minute intervals in groups of not more than 10.

Kindly Note: There is some street parking available around the Scout Hall but there is plenty of parking available within two minutes of the Hall.

e.g. St. Meddans Street car park at the west end of St. Meddans Street on Troon sea-front and Academy Street car park.

Where possible please car share, or arrange to be dropped off and collected.

Withdrawals Policy

Up until June 1st. 2017 all withdrawals will be subject to a £3.00 Charge to cover the cost of processing the entry and refund. 

After June 1st. 2017 no refunds will be given
