The Cold Norton Charity 10K & Half Marathon Trail Event
20 Feb 2022
Please join us for our charity trail running event in aid of Farleigh Hospice.
Event address: Charity Farm, Crows Lane, Woodham Ferrers, Essex CM3 8RT. What3words location: boasted.bordering.force
Huge thanks to the Cooper family for allowing us use of the farm to host the event and also to The Finish Line Fund for kindly donating the cost of portable toilet hire. Without these we would not be able to host a winter event.
There are 2 routes available, 10km or 13.1 miles (half marathon), mainly on grass, tracks and paths in the beautiful countryside around Woodham Ferrers and nearby villages. These are unmarked, narrative routes where you will be given written instructions to follow (there will be a few bits of tape to help you in trickier places!).
There will be a staggered start, with runners able to set off between 8.30-9.30am. Parking will be open from 8am. There will be no bag drop but parking is close to the start/finish, runners are asked to get ready by their vehicles and are invited to come to the registration desk when they are ready to run. You will be given your written instructions and number, then off you go!
You will be timed in and out - we will do our best to give you accurate timings but it is not chip timed.
There will be aid stations but this is a cupless event, you will need to carry your own cup or drink bottle.
The event will be run with the current, at the time, COVID 19 restrictions https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus.
All finishers will recieve a medal.
We hope to have refreshments at the finish with hot/cold drinks and home made cakes. Please bring some pennies or pounds as donations for this will be most welcome.
Entry cost is £10 for the 10k (plus 50p booking fee) and £15 for the half marathon (plus 60p = 4% booking fee).
Ample parking, toilets and handwashing facilities will be available.
Entries close on 31st December 2021.
Thank you for supporting us in raising funds for Farleigh Hospice.
