This page is only for intention to try and qualify to represent West Midlands at the IRCs.
Registration for the 2019 West Midlands Junior Series (9-16 years old) is automatic as a BTF Triathlon England West Midlands Home Nations Member - The 2019 series is for BTF members only.
In 2019 Triathlon England West Midlands are using Entry Central to collate details of those TS2 & TS3 BTF West Midlands members who wish to try and qualify to represent the region at the IRCS. The registration is also used as a basis for the West Midlands Development Group for invitations to training sessions for those intending to try and qualify to represent the West Midlands at the IRCs.
There is no charge for registering your intention to try and qualify to reperesent West Midlands at the IRCs
TE West Midlands are pleased to announce a change in the qualifying criteria for IRCS at Mallory Park 15/16 September.
The format of 20’s festival is:
Saturday the Regional IRCs
Sunday Mixed Relays.
Who is eligible?
Anyone wishing to qualify to represent the West Midlands at the 2019 IRCs must:
-Live in the West Midlands or be a member of a West Midlands British Triathlon affiliated club.
-Be a Triathlon England member prior to the day of the qualifying event and up to and including 31/10/19.
It is essential that West Midlands Region is shown on your race licence. Athletes can only represent the region shown on their Triathlon England race licence at national races.
A scanned copy of both sides of the Triathlon England race licence must be e-mailed to prior to the qualifying event.
The 2019 IRC Qualifying Event TBC
There will only be ONE qualification race (see above about which race and how to enter).
It is expected that anyone wishing to be considered for the team will enter and race at this event. The team will be selected from the first 3 West Midlands male and female athletes in TS2 and TS3 at the qualifying event, along with 1 reserve male and female athlete. The team selected will be notified as soon as possible following the event.
In the event of the qualifier being cancelled or postponed a decision will be made by the West Midlands Regional Committee for selection for the IRC's.
Those who qualify, and the reserves will be required to attend IRC training days, dates which are to be confirmed.
Due to financial constraints, there are no funds in the budget for IRC kit and qualifying athletes will have to fund the required kit, unless sponsorship is found.
