Friends of Ardwell Community Kirk
Surrounded by trees and shrubs and fronted with grass and flowerbeds, Ardwell Church is a Gothic cruciform church designed by P MacGregor Chalmers 1901. A tower with octagonal spire and corner pinnacles. Notable inside are the inscriptions in the masonry. Pulpit, reredos, screen and communion table in oak, elaborately carved. In July 2016 the Church of Scotland returned the Church to the community under the care of Ardwell Community Kirk, an association that is constituted to allow this beautiful building to be ised by the community. The Trust is seeking charitable status and in the meantime aims to maintain and develop this stunning building for community use. It is available for functions including, but not exclusively, weddings, naming ceremonies and funerals. The church will continue to be available as a place of public worship.
