Clacton Triathlon Weekend 2018

08 Sep 2018 - 09 Sep 2018

The Clacton Triathlon Weekend 2018, in aid of the Brain and Spine Foundation, takes place on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th September.

The event is based at the Holland Haven Country Park, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex.
There is ample free parking close to the large transition area which is situated beside the sea on the Greensward at Holland Haven.

Over the weekend there are three events:

The Clacton Children's Duathlon for children aged 8 to 14*
The Clacton Sprint & Super-Sprint Cross-Triathlon for those 15 and over* including a 750m or 400m Open Water Sea Swim
The 20th Clacton Standard Triathlon for those aged 17 and over* including a 1500m Open Water Sea Swim

* Ages as at 31st December 2018

Since their inception, 20 years ago, the Clacton Triathlon has supported the Brian & Spine Foundation raising almost £100,000 to help fund research into brain and spine conditions and injuries. Initially, this choice was due to the misfortune of two members of Clacton Swimming Club, an organisation to which the organisers are closely linked. Our motivation and choice of charity has been reinforced over recent years due to subsequent Brain and Spine related conditions which have afflicted other members, past and present, of Clacton Swimming Club. The Triathlon continues to be the annual focus for those surviving members and the families of those who are no longer with us. They all take an active part in assisting us to make the event a success.

We look forward to seeing you all over the Clacton Triathlon Weekend in September.

Don't forget we have a Prize for the quickest Combined time for those competitors competing in both our Sprint and Standard Triathlons!

NB: The Clacton Standard Distance Triathlon forms part of the Eastern Region Adult League 2018, whilst the Children's Duathlon forms part of the Eastern Region Junior League 2018
- Tristars Start to Tristars 3 competitors accrue points from the Children's Off-Road Duathlon
- Youth Competitors will accrue league points from completing the Super-Sprint Triathlon.

The Clacton Triathlon Weekend 2018, in aid of the Brain and Spine Foundation, takes place on 8th and 9th September.
