Carnegie Harriers is a friendly running club which caters for the interests of road, country, hill, ultra, trail and fitness running. The club meets for training every Tuesday (currently at 5.45 and 6.30 pm) and Thursday evening at 6.20 pm (for a 6.30 pm start). Although we are based at Pitreavie Sport and Soccer Centre, Pitreavie Playing Fields, Dunfermline, there are alternative meeting points for some of our sessions and futher details can be found on the club's website. The Sport and Soccer Centre offers changing / showering facilities along with a cafe. Our training is structured, progressive and adaptable to meet the needs of all runners regardless of speed or ability. From time to time, at weekends and on other evenings, we offer off-road runs that everyone is welcome to join.
We welcome new members, regardless of experience, and whether you are a serious competitor or just wishing to keep fit. We ask that everyone thinking of joining the club comes along to a couple of training sessions beforehand, just so that we can get to know each other and to make sure the club fits your needs.
Carnegie Harriers are the proud organisers of the popular Devilla Forest 15K and 5K Trail races which take place in February. These races showcase the fantastic ability of the club at organising races where a range of running abilities can test their mettle on the challenging courses. We also host our unique Memorial Race in August which gives runners the opportunity to race (on two legs) around Knockhill Racing Circuit. Another firm favourite with runners.
Joining Carnegie Harriers is a great way to make new friends as throughout the year we also regularly enjoy social outings to local pubs and restaurants, as well as more formal gatherings on occasion.
As Carnegie Harriers has just celebrated it's 25th anniversary, this is an exciting time to join a well established and respected club and become part of this running community.
