The Beltie Triathlon Weekend

31 Aug 2019 - 01 Sep 2019

Organiser's Description

Welcome to most wonderful triathlon. Join us in south-west Scotland for 17th Crossmichael Triathlon.

The Beltie Weekend is a new festival of triathlon and races. Duke Events aim to cater for all ages and abilities and will offer you a Go Tri (come and try triathlon event) in an off-road location; a series of kids’ events, off road at age appropriate distances (The Baby Beltie); a Standard Distance Triathlon (The Wee Beltie) and a Middle-Distance Triathlon (The Big Beltie) and some extra races as open water swim, Aquathlon, Aquabike.

See the other races on this page: https://www.entrycentral.com/beltie-triathlon

There will be relay team opportunities in both adult triathlon events.

Why the Beltie name you may ask. Well the beautiful area we are in is the home of the famous Belted Galloway breed of cow which is recognised the world over for it’s outstanding good looks and cool looking jumper.

We are in the Galloway Glen of the Water of Ken and Dee, a stunningly scenic area of South-West  Scotland. The area is recognised as a hidden gem often missed by the tourist tracks to the Highlands and Central Scotland. This is your chance to race in a truly wonderful place.

Location

Crossmichael near CASTLE DOUGLAS

DG7 3AU

We have tried to make the distances as accurate as possible however using the existing road networks mean we will have approximate distances for each of the run and bike legs. The transition area will be located at the Crossmichael Marina, there is a short run from the transition area to the road for the bike

Standard and Middle-Distance Events.

Middle Distance:

Two lap courses; Lap one will follow the same route as the Standard Distance however will not turn at Ken Bridge, the route will continue to St John’s Town of Dalry and beyond to Glen Lee where there will be a left turn which will bring the route back to New Galloway where it will re-join the Standard distance loop.
