Western Hills Sportive
08 Sep 19
This year Omagh Wheelers, in celebrating its 20th anniversary year, has revamped the annual Western Hills Sportive with routes to suit all levels and abilities with a choice of either a 40, 60 or 100 mile route available.
The 100mile route stretches westwards into Donegal and the breathtaking scenery of Barnes Gap before heading homewards via the rugged Pettigo mountain. This is a challenging route suitable for racing/advanced leisure cyclists. The route can be viewed at: 100 Mile Route
The 60 mile route takes the same course as the 100 mile over the first 30 miles as far as Castlederg before turning off for the climb over Scraghey mountain and then homeward via Ederney. The route can be viewed at: 60 Mile Route
The 40 mile route is common to both the 60 and 100 mile routes for the first 25 miles before heading homeward bound via Drumquin. The route can be viewed at: 40 Mile Route
