The Prowl is a walk around the streets of Fraserburgh, raising funds for The Baird Family Hospital and The ANCHOR Centre Project, a £150 million building development at the Foresterhill Health Campus in Aberdeen. This exciting project will result in two new buildings being opened on the site in 2020 to support and enhance the provision of clinical care.
The ANCHOR Centre will provide out-patient and day-patient services for oncology and haematology patients. This will include care for patients with cancer and patients with blood and bone marrow disorders. An Aseptic Pharmacy Suite will also be included in this new centre. ANCHOR – Aberdeen and North Centre for Haematology, Oncology and Radiotherapy – is a well-respected and highly regarded ‘brand’ for these clinical services, established in the North for almost two decades.
The Baird Family Hospital will replace the existing Aberdeen Maternity Hospital and will therefore provide accommodation for maternity, neonatal and reproductive services. In addition, breast screening, breast surgery and gynaecology services will relocate from Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to also be included in this new hospital. The hospital has been named in recognition of the contribution made to health by the Baird family over many years in Aberdeen and elsewhere in Scotland.
Both buildings will include state-of-the-art research and teaching facilities and will offer person-centred environment of care.
Thank you for taking part in “The Prowl” all the funds raised will go directly to these two projects.
