The Highlander Duathlon, 'Escape the Redcoats'
09 Jul 17
"The Highlander - Escape the Redcoats" is a duathlon which starts and finishes at the Highland Folk Museum Newtonmore. Entrants will follow a figure of eight course consisting of a 39 mile cycle on a combination of rural roads and paved cycle paths. Following the transition at Cluny Castle, entrants will undertake a 6 mile off-road run, returning to the transition before the final 6 miles cycle to the finish.
The event has been fully supported by The Cairngorm National Park, Highland Regional Council and is being hosted by the Highland Folk Museum.
This is a unique opportunity to take part in an event set in the wilderness of the Scottish Highlands. The route will take you through the stunning Badenoch valley located within the Cairngorm National Park. The run section has unparalleded access to a Highland estate, where "Escape the Redcoats" is the only event with permission to use the land.
