Oxford Greenbelt Runs

20 May 17

Run 10km through the Oxford countryside

This is the inaugural Oxford Greenbelt Run, taking place in parallel with a vibrant family ‘fun-day’, with proceeds going towards an Oxfordshire explorer-scout volunteering trip to Kenya in July this year.
For what we hope to be the friendliest 10km around, on a predominantly off-road and undulating course, we aim to attract up to 300 participants, as well as their families and friends to enjoy the beautiful west Oxford countryside.  The route takes in a short section of the Oxford Greenbelt Way, a beautiful long-distance walk encircling historic Oxford.  Come the end of May, the course will be bursting with new life and looking its spring-best!

We hope our runners, walkers and joggers will both enjoy the challenge of the distance and take time to appreciate this part of Oxford’s greenbelt.  From high points on the route, they will gaze down over open countryside to Oxford’s world-famous dreaming spires!

Runners looking for an extra challenge could 'double-up' that morning, with the Harcourt Hill ParkRun at 9am, followed by our 10k at 11am!  Our on-site cafe will be open at 10am, serving hot drinks and snacks for you to rehydrate and fuel up!

Ample free car parking is available right next-door to the event site.

Registration is open from 10am at the 4th Oxford scout hall (conveniently located between the car parking and the event site).

There will be no water stations on the route, but all participants will have a drinks voucher to use at the funday cafe or bar in their race pack.  Refreshments will be available throughout the day at the event.

The run will be timed manually, with results published shortly after the run on the event website. Don't come expecting a PB though, as the course is up and down and possibly muddy in one or two places! There will be prizes for 1st adult male and 1st adult female to finish.

No accompanying dogs or following cycles allowed.   Competitors must be 16+ on May 20th 2017 to run our 10k.

Entry is just £10 for adults and £2 for the kids' 1k. Online entry is easy via the Sign Up button above. Entries on the day will be accepted (£12 for the 10k, £2 for the 1k), up to our limit of 300 runners.

The 10k run will start at 11.00am on Saturday 20th May, with the route available to view and download on our website.

Our aim is to have fun, enjoy the lovely Oxford countryside and raise lots of money for a good cause. Do not think you have to run the full 10k - just aim to get round, jogging, walking, hopping.....

We look forward to seeing you!
