The 27th Linda Franks Race is now scheduled to take place on Wednesday 21st July. This is dependent on the Government Covid roadmap - and associated England Athletics guidance - proceeding as scheduled, and all restrictions lifted as of 19th July. Please note that, party due to the Covid situation, we have revised the entry limit to 200.
This is a chip-timed, fast 5-mile race around 2 circuits of the streets of the Reddings and Hatherley and has been a popular fixture on the local race calendar for over 20 years, appealing to runners of all abilities.
Due to the Covid situation, and with what is almost certainly a truncated race calendar for 2021, this race will not form part of this years Gloucestershire AAA road race series.
The logistics of the Start area rendered the race unviable under Covid-secure conditions, hence the postponement from its original date. Whilst we anticipate running this as a 'Covid-free' event we strive to ensure that all feasible precautions are undertaken and ask for the co-operation of all entrants in this respect. This will mean limiting available facilities and encouraging people not to linger.

Please note that all people going into Race HQ will be temperature-checked on the way in.
We expect to confirm the Cheltenham Film Studios, Hatherlay Lane, an approximate 10-minute walk from Race HQ (please do not use Race HQ as this is needed for race support).
At Race HQ, from 5.30 - 6.30pm. We will be operating a one-way system and social distancing. Please do not linger; move on once you have your race pack.
There will be no indoor kitchen / refreshments. We plan to have a mobile unit seling drinks etc.
Kit storage will be very limited; please turn up 'race-ready' and bring along minimal extra gear.
Toilets will be limited so please plan ahead!
The race will start at 7.00pm (6.55pm for wheelchar athletes) and will run its usual 2-lap, 5-mile course. This is a fast and largely flat course on mainly residential streets. The race will be chip-timed but, for the purposes of competition and prizes, gun times will apply.
To minimise congragation in the finish area we expect to issue medals back at (outside) Race HQ.

Please note any runner winning a 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize will not be eligible for an age category prize (i.e. they will not win 2 individual prizes).
We expect to hold the prize presentation outdoors (weather permitting!).
This race has sold out very quickly in the last three years. We will open entries in three waves, in order to allow everyone an opportunity to put an entry in. If the race if full, a waiting list will be opened; any subsequent cancellations will be passed to the first / next in line on that list.
Entry fees: £13 (£11 affiliated - a valid UKA number is required). In line with most events, direct refunds will not be available once the entry has been submitted. Transfers will be allocated to the waiting list, in order, and once the ‘transferred’ place is taken up a refund (minus the admin fee) will be issued. This will apply up until the event closing date.
On the day entries will not be available.
