Kinross Road Runners invite you to enter the

37th Loch Leven Half Marathon

to be held on the 9th of May 2020

If you can't make the race, then transfer your place.

The race is now sold out, so please put your name on the waiting list if you wish to still enter. We had over 100 transfers last year which are available right up to the 5th of May.

If you are unable to make the race, then please let us know and we will transfer your place and get you a refund. You can transfer to a person of your choice, otherwise your place will go to the next person on the waiting list.

The Loch Leven Half Marathon is organised by Kinross Road Runners whose aim is to ensure that it continues to be one of the best half marathons in Scotland. The route is gently undulating round the scenic shores of Loch Leven. The event is open to runners aged 17 or over on the day and is held on open roads.

The race is run under UK Athletics Rules and is a Scottish Athletics permit event.

Entry opens on the 2nd of February. There is a limit of 650 runners for this event. The race will sell out quickly, as with previous years. Please be aware of the following before you sign up...

You will have to sign up through a valid Entry Central account.

Transfers will be allowed, but only through Kinross Road Runners.

There will be no deferrals.

Refunds are only available (minus admin charges) when transferring your place to someone on the waiting list.

Transfers & Refunds

If you can't make the race then transferring your place up to and including the 5th of May is available through Kinross Road Runners and places must be transferred to someone on the waiting list. The waiting list will be open ended, so that you can transfer to someone of your choice, otherwise your place will go to the first in line on the list. You can only receive a refund once a transfer has been completed. If transferring your place after April the 11th, then you will only be able to receive a refund for your race entry and not for any medals or shirts ordered, as these will already have been processed and will go into our charity sale after the race.

Refunds are not available under any other circumstances.

T-Shirts & Medals

We have a newly designed bespoke wooden medal that is completely different from previous years, so if bling is your thing, then I suggest you order one. The t-shirt will also be different, but still shouting out that it's for the Loch Leven Half Marathon. We had a huge amount of requests for medals and t-shirts after the race last year from runners who didn't order one and had to go away disappointed. We will not have the option to order more after the race, so please consider your choices carefully.

Race Numbers will be issued from 8:30am on the day of the race at registration at Loch Leven Community Campus, The Muirs, Kinross KY13 8FQ. Registration will close at 10:30am to allow runners to get to the start in time. Race Numbers are not exchangeable and no-one will be allowed to run without one. If you are unable to compete for any reason then regretfully no refunds can be made unless you transfer your place to someone on the waiting list (minus admin charges).

The race starts at 11:00 am. The start will take place on Clashburn Road, at the south of the town. This is approximately 1.2 miles from registration, so please leave plenty of time to arrive for the race start.

Health and Safety

Clear route maps will be posted at Registration and on this registration page. The route is well signposted. It is on public roads therefore UKA Rule 240 S5 Forbids the wearing of headphones or similar devices, for this reason we ask runners to not wear headphones unless they are bone conductors or medically prescribed. Those ignoring this rule or any other will be disqualified and removed from the results. The organisers are being assisted by Tayside Police, Fife Raynet, and a number of voluntary marshals. The safety of all is paramount and it is a condition of entry that competitors must follow the rules, instructions of the Police and the marshals or you may be disqualified. The marshals will be on the course for an arranged time to oversee all capabilities of runners, however we expect all runners to have completed the course within 3 hours and beyond this time we cannot guarantee marshals will be supervising the course. All runners must enter emergency contact details on the back of their bib number.

There are prizes in all runner categories as well as a team prize for ladies and men. We will also have spot prizes on the day. Full results will be available on our Website and on Facebook at as soon as possible.

There are toilets and changing facilities at registration. Car parking is limited so please car share where possible.  Further information on parking will be provided nearer the time in the race pack that will be emailed out to you a few days before the race.

There are four water stations on the route. These will provide water in paper cups. There will be bottled water available at the finish.

There will be catering facilities available at the Campus, along with changing rooms, toilets, showers and a bag store.
