The Gartmorn 6 and Junior race

DATE AND TIME

The Junior event will start at 10:00am

The Senior event will start at 10:30am
Both events take place on Sunday 12th March 2017
WE WILL ACCEPT ENTRIES ON THE DAY PROVIDING THE RACE HAS NOT ALREADY SOLD OUT

RACE START POINT
Both races start and finish on Carsebridge Road, Sauchie, Alloa

The Junior event is approx. 2 miles 

The Senior event follows an accurately measured 6 mile route.

 

ENTRY FEE

The Junior race entry fee is £2.00

The Senior race entry fee is £8.00 for SAF members in advance  (£10.00 on the day if available) and £10.00 for Non-SAF members  in advance (£12.00 on the day if available).

There is a race limit of 200 runners in the JUNIOR race and 300 in the SENIOR race.

No refunds will be made if you enter and then are unable to particpate. You can nominate another runner  to take your place and we will substitute him/her for you.

If the race cannot take place on the date scheduled for reasons outwith our control, we will reschedule the event and carry your entry forward to the revised date.

 

THE COURSE
The race takes place on a multi-terrain route. Senior runners complete one lap of Gartmorn Dam

 

PARKING
There is ample parking available adjacent to the race start

 

REGISTRATION
You must COLLECT your race number on the morning of the race. Numbers will NOT be sent out by post. Competitors are required to collect their number and complete registration not later than 30 minutes before race start i.e. at 9:30am. for the Junior event and 10:00 for the Senior event.  Race HQ, registration and post race refreshments will be at the Sauchie Hall, Mar Place, SAUCHIE FK103EA. Race HQ is about a half mile (about 5 minutes at a gentle warm up pace) from race start.

 

CHANGING FACILITIES
We recommend that you come along ready to run. The organisers accept no responsibility for loss of clothing or anything else. There are no showers available. (Sorry)

 

REFRESHMENTS
Sandwiches, cakes, tea and coffee will be provided free of charge after the event (but a donation would be appreciated. All donations will be donated to a local charity of the club's choosing)

Individual awards will be presented to:
Junior(male and female)

  • 1st three males
  • 1st three females
  • 1st male 40+,50+,60+
  • 1st female 35+,45+,55+

The race results will be available on the Wee County Harriers website and the Scottish Athletics website after the event.

Course
It is run over an accurately measured 6 mile multi-terrain course. Runners complete one lap of Gartmorn Dam.

 

Rules and permits
The race is run under UK Athletics rules and is a Scottish Athletics Permit Event.

 

Entry and registration

Entry can be made on the day from 9.00am. Entries on the day require an additional £2 fee, if the race is not full. Entries on the day must be completed by 10:00 am. Cash accepted on the day.

Pre-entrants must complete registration and collect race numbers by 10.00am on the morning of the race

The race has a limit of 300 runners

Runners must be at least 16 years of age (on race day) and must not run unless medically fit to do so . Entry is at competitor’s own risk and participants accept that no person(s) or organisation(s) will be held responsible for any accident, injury, or loss to a competitor or to their property, prior to, during, or after the event. The organisers reserve the right to alter the arrangements and conditions should circumstances require. Competitors agree that results with names, times and positions can be published. Competitors consent to the official event photographers taking photographs and the publication of those photographs for promotional uses.
