Tartan Warrior Obstacle Course Fundraiser

30th October 2016 12:00 to 13:00

Get an obstacle race workout with your kids. Looking to smash your next obstacle race or want to get a feel for what obstacle racing is all about. Learn how to fly over walls, swing through monkey bars with ease, throw a spear like a Spartan, climb ropes, own the parallel bars and destroy the atlas stone carry.

Whether you want a fun and challenging day out or if you are planning on running at Tartan Warrior, Tough Mudder, Spartan, Total Warrior, Bing Blazer, Tough Guy, Lanrick Challenge, Glack Attack, TrailTroopers or some of the other awesome OCR's in Scotland you will love this training day at our outdoor obstacle gym.

You will be trained by elite obstacle racers Joda Quigley and John Denovan.

Joda's background is in equestrian sports and boxing. As a relative newcomer to boxing Joda was selected to attend the first Scottish Women's Team Boxing Training Camp at Inverclyde in 2010. Since getting involved in obstacle racing Joda has demonstrated a natural ability winning her first OCR - the Midlands Spartan Sprint in 2013. She has continued winning races and hitting the podium on a regular basis in 2014. She was also selected to represent Team Muddy Kit after a strong performance at the Team Muddy Kit trials. So far this year Joda has finished 2nd Woman at Deerstalker, 1st Woman at Bing Blazer (2nd person) and was 1st Woman to cross the finish line at Tough Mudder as well as smashing road races, trail runs, park runs and hill races.

John's background is in ice hockey and hill racing. In ice hockey John has represented GB at under 16 and Scotland at various levels and has also played for Slough in the English Premier League. His first OCR event was the Edinburgh Spartan race in 2012 where he finished 2nd. Over 2013 and 2014 John has won races, hit podiums and competed against the OCR Elites across the UK. John has been injured this year but has been smashing trail races, park runs and road races, as well as keeping Joda company at OCR's.
