GO TRI Mallory Park Multisport Series 2016/17

We are pleased to announce the next GO Tri Mallory Park Event will be a run/bike/run duathlon to be held on Sunday 5th March 2017

Following the success of our GO Tri Multisport Series in 2014 & 2015 we are again hosting a series in 2016/17 with a number of events across the winter and into Spring 2017.

The event will provide a morning of low cost, low key, fun & safe racing, you will be given your overall time and position, but splits won't be included nor will there be any prizes or medals on the day. However, see below for details of the most improved athletes award.

Having listened to feedback we recieved from previous events, this year the events will consist of seperate male and female waves and at some events completely seperate races.

The iconic Mallory Park is proving to be the ideal multisport venue with it's clean, weed free, spring fed lake to swim in and traffic free racing circuit to cycle and run on, it is the perfect venue for a GO Tri Event.

GO Tri Events are ideal for everyone whether you are a complete novice, new to the world of multi discilpline events or an experienced athlete wanting a pressure free training event.

The second duathlon event of the series will be held on Sunday March 5th 2017, once again the mens race will start at 10.00hrs and the ladies at 12.00hrs. The course will be exactly the same as the first one and for those who entered the November 2016 event there will be a prize for the most improved athlete (male & female) across the two races. This will be a great opportunity to see how the winter training has gone and will most likely be won by novice athletes.

The Duathlon

The run bike run events taking place on the iconic Mallory Park Racing Circuit will consist of a 3km run, an 11km bike and a further 2km run to finish all on a super smooth completely traffic course.

Run 1

The first run start will be on the racing circuit start/finish line you will then run clockwise around Gerrards Bend and onto the circuit inner perimeter track then backthrough the paddock, before heading out back onto the circuit for your next lap. This run will consist of 3 laps.

Transition

This will be in the main paddock, it will be secure and marshalled to ensure all your valuables are safe.

Bike

The bike leg starts with a sting as you head out of the padock up up the hill to the hair-pin bend then its downhill through Devils Elbow and off around the rest of the super smooth traffic free race circuit for five laps.

Run 2

From transition back out to Gerrads Bend the same as run 1 but for just two laps. Then it's back to the finish in the centre of the paddock, great for spectators as you go for that all out sprint finish!

Other Information

The cost to enter the race is £15.00 if the event is not sold out, entries on the day will be accepted with an added charge of £3.

Registration on the race day will be in the signing on room in the paddock and will open 90 minutes before the event start time.

You do not need to be part of any club or team to participate (it is open to all) and the lower age limit for this event is 14 years.

You can ride any bike providing it is road worthy.

Showers/changing facilities are available along with ample parking, refreshments and great spectator viewing.

Whilst everone including experienced athletes are welcome, GO Tri events are low cost, low key events, which, although timed, will not include trophies for winners. The idea is to create events which are ideal for beginers and those new to muti discipline sport.
