Fritton Lake Outdoor Centre is one of the lead providers of open water swimming in the region. Our regular weekly sessions have been running since 2009 and attract swimmers of all types from leisure swimmers looking to unwind and enjoy a unique perspective of our lake, to athletes swim training for competition or for more extreme challenges such as channel swimming.
All our sessions are monitored and a safety boat is on hand at all times, plus we have experienced triathlon and swim coaches available at every session to provide any support and guidance needed for you to get the most out of your experience.
For your comfort male and female changing rooms with warm showers are located at the lake side.

Summer swimming commences on Tuesday 24th April 2018.
Regular weekly sessions are held on;
Tuesdays: 17:30 to 20:00
Thursdays: 17:30 to 20:00
Saturdays: 08:00 to 10:30
From 4th September onwards evening session times will shorten as the evenings draw in.
There will be no swimming Saturday 16th June due to the Triathlon Weekend at Fritton Lake.
You can purchase a single swim for £6.50 from the Outdoor Centre on arrival. Multiple swims may also be purchased as the Outdoor Centre (10 sessions for £55 or 50 sessions for £200)
To progress beyond the warm up zone swimmers must be able to complete a 400m swim without the need to rest.
Open water swimming can be strenuous and has associated risks. It is your responsibility to be fit and healthy enough to take part. If you are in any doubt at all you must consult your GP. For your safety you must inform us via the registration form if you have any ongoing medical conditions. These include but are not limited to angina, asthma, blackouts/fainting, diabetes, anaphylaxis, seizures or epilepsy, heart attack, blood pressure or stroke, or other serious medical conditions. We recommend that if you are pregnant or suspect that you may be pregnant that you do not take part in open water swimming.
Swimmers must be aged 12 or over. Swimmers under the age of 18 require parental consent to take part.
