Fladbury Festive Five

Friends of Fladbury are pleased to be arranging the Fladbury Festive Five. The race is a 5 mile-ish multi-terrain course, mainly off road, along the banks of the River Avon, through Fladbury Village and Lower Moor, Worcestershire. This run is organised and hosted by The Friends of Fladbury community group. The event has been a popular event in the local running calendar.
The profits from the event will go towards community projects in Fladbury. The funds raised from previous races have been used to support our village playground, our Rainbows group, our Brownies group, Fladbury CE 1st School, Fladbury Paddle Club, Fladbury Scrabble Club, Fladbury Village Hall, Fladbury Cricket Club and Fladbury Football Club.
- Entries this year are limited to 200 and there will not be entries on the day.
- The entry fee is £10 for UKA Affiliated Club Members, £12 for those unattached
- Minimum age limit 15 years
- All entrants will receive a goodie bag, free hot drink and cake!
- There will be prizes for age category winners (see details below)
- UK Athletics race licence has been applied for
- There will be refreshments available before, during and after the race.
The race is being held at EVG greenhouses again, off Salters Lane, Lower Moor. There are very good toilet and changing facilities but parking is limited so please share lifts if possible.
Race start time: 10.30am
Race numbers will be issued on the day from 9.30am. Race briefing will be 10.25am.
The route is almost entirely off road. Therefore, we recommend that appropriate running shoes are worn. There will be a water station approximately half way along the route. A map of the route can be found at http://www.goodrunguide.co.uk/RouteViewer.asp?RouteType=S&RouteID=138228
Trophies will be awarded to the following categories – 1st junior male (under 18), 1st junior female ( under 18), 1st male under 40, 1st female under 40, 1st male 40-54, 1st female 40-54, 1st male 55- 64, 1st female 55-64, 1st male over 65, 1st female over 65.
To ensure the safety of all runners the use of MP3 players during the race will not be allowed. This ensures all runners are aware of their surroundings and can hear instructions from the marshalls. Any runners using MP3 players will be disqualified from the race.
DATA PROTECTION: The information provided by you will be used solely for the purpose of the race. The information will only be available to members of the results team and appropriate race officials and will not be passed to any other person or agency. EVENT CANCELLATION: The event will only be cancelled due to unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances. In such an eventuality all participants will be notified as soon as possible. In this event, you will be offered the opportunity to have your entry fee returned less any fees incurred by Entry Central. Alternatively, the entry fee will be considered as a donation to the community group/charity funds.
