Dick Wedlock Memorial 10k Run
19 May 18
The Dick Wedlock Memorial 10k is hosted by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Athletics Club. The route is entirely within Pollok Country Park, and is an undulating route.
MAP OF ROUTE
The route will start and finish at the access road into Cartha QPRFC car park. On leaving the car park, turn left and stay on this road. Follow the road around by Lochinch (Police recreation facility) and keep going until you get to the juntion with Pollok House ahead. At this juntion go LEFT. Continue on this road until you get to the left turns for the Burrell Collection. Take the second LEFT turn that takes you into the bottom of the Burrell Car Park. As you come out of the car park turn RIGHT. About 300m along this road turn LEFT (same as Pollok parkrun) onto the narrower path, then first RIGHT until you come out again on the wider path. You then go LEFT and proceed over this wider road. Continue on this road for as far as you can until you come to another larger junction. At this junction go LEFT and again run until the 2nd LEFT that takes you back to the bottom of the Burrell car park. Repeat the route taken previously. This will take you back over the wide road again to the juntion denoted red above (where you went left). This time TURN RIGHT, down the hill for about 100m then RIGHT again so that you are on the road back by Lochinch which is now on your left. From here, it's just folowing the road all the way back to the Cartha Rugby Club. Turn RIGHT into the Cartha car park and you'll see the finish ahead of you.
The route is of tarred surface which in parts also consists of several speedbumps.
N.B. The route has been altered from last year, due to ongoing works at the stables area.
