Dromara Hill Climb Challenge

21 Sep 2019

Organiser's Description

Dromara Cycling Club is hosting their 4th annual Hill Climb Challenge on Saturday 21st September 2019. The course starts at the foot of Dree Hill and finishes at the summit of Slieve Croob - approximately 3 miles.

This year there will be an off-road climb as well as the road climb. Riders on mountain bikes or cyclo-cross bikes can use the off-road climb which takes in a bridal way. All riders finish at the same point. E-bikes welcome. Riders start at one minute intervals starting from 1 pm. There is even an option to do both routes for those who REALLY enjoy climbing.

Event headquarters will be in the Kings Pub in Finnis. After the climb riders can return to the pub for the BBQ and prize giving. There will be the usual host of spot prizes but you need to be there to win.

As this is a timed event, riders will need to have a competition licence to take part (Limited competition licence will suffice). One-day licences are also available. Entry fee for those aged 18 and over is £10, £5 for those under 18. Sign on opens from 12:30 pm.
